Its good, but I just need to make sure my svn addons like stargate are kept up to date, I don't want to manage my svn server or anything else in that matter. I don't want any more nor any less then just making sure my addons are up to date. Features: It provides what you need to update the files on your computer and server itself Ease of Use: Would be nice if this added some new stuff onto the alt-menu (or referred to right click menu) so I can right a svn file on this computer and check-in or out that file (If file has been svn updated before) and be done. Value: I would strip what people would use for just check-outs and keep the original for svn server hosters Stability its pretty rock solid, not failures of any kind.

I'd used svnX for managing my repositories on my laptop, but I must say that the one-window interface of ZigVersion is a huge advantage! However, it hasn't recognized my versioned files unless I used it for checkouts.

Why advertise that it's free to non-commercial users? It certainly looks like useful software, but I'm not convinced that I should pay for beta software.

ZigVersion is an EXCELLENT alternative to the command line svn interface, and opens up the efficiencies of working with version control for people who wouldn't otherwise attempt it. Great for programmers and web developers - especially those web designers who've used the check-in/check-out functions in Dreamweaver.

I guess a version control system is the most helpful when it is integrated into an IDE... still, graphical version control makes sense, since it makes comparing the differences between revisions much easier.

Not being a fan of the command line since my DOS days or on my Macs since 84, I can appreciate anything close to a GUI SVN app. Will give it a try and see what happens, maybe I'll go back to the command line.

Subversion can be intimidating to people who avoid the command line or aren't familiar with non-gui interfaces. ZigVersion is an EXCELLENT alternative to the command line svn interface, and opens up the efficiencies of working with version control for people who wouldn't otherwise attempt it. Great for programmers and web developers - especially those web designers who've used the check-in/check-out functions in Dreamweaver. Don't assume it's just for noobs though. Xcode users will appreciate it's simple but feature rich interface. It makes any programming workflow quick and painless.

I hadn't seen this client before (though I wasn't looking hard). Even with the discount, it seems a bit pricey for an SVN client, but I'll certainly check out the non-commerical license since it seems like it has some nice features.

I was sorely tempted by ZigVersion awhile ago. This is a piece of software that is a well-designed front-end for powerful versioning software, and easy to use and learn. I was turned off by the hefty commercial license, though (since I'm designing commercial websites, with no fronting capital really). However, this price is very tempting. The only reservation that I still have is that the upcoming Versions from Made By Sofa looks like it might be a competitor worthy of supporting. On the other hand, it isn't out yet and Made By Sofa sometimes charges quite hefty prices, so who knows. In any case, this is well worth checking out if you use Subversion, or want to use it but are put off by the command line interface.

I have to say I'm very interested in this program having just tried to get SVN client side working on my Mac. Having tried a finder plugin and having to settle on using Eclipse with subclipse I'm very interested in a decent client app. However the price seems rather high to me just for an svn client? I'll have to do some research on this app and give it a go.

GREAT! I always end up going back to the command line after trying the various graphical Subversion clients, due to buggines, or poor user interfaces. Not this time! ZigVersion is the first one that is actually more *productive* than using the comand line. It's a real native Mac app, with a thoughtful design. Sure, it is expensive for a commercial license, but that's to be expected when there's so much junky-but-free competition out there... I paid, and don't regret it one bit.

On the surface it seems like a really nice, simple GUI for SVN. Hard to say how it compares with svnX from intitally playing with it, but it does seem stable, well made and the View Changes interface is quite good. I don't think I would pay $99 for it, and $59 still seems steep. If it were going for maybe $39 I'd bite -- as well as if I knew how active the developer was in maintaining and improving the application. I've got 11 hours left until the promo expires; I'll decide by then.

Without a doubt, the best Subversion client for Mac out there, with full drag and drop support (the way you make a 'svn export' by dragging a folder to the Finder is just brilliant) ZigVersion is fast and stable, and the diff mode when commiting is worth its weight in gold (and should be made a standalone product we could use for merges : ) I've been using it from the pre 1.0 days and it has always been a trustworthy tool.

It's OK - it's probably the best of all of the svn clients for the mac right now. The big thing about it is that you don't need a separate command line program - it's got subversion compiled in. Otherwise, it gets confused a lot - I've noticed that it doesn't successfully 'clean' very often, and has a hard time with a lot of UTF8 valid characters. Also, if there's something really perverse about a filename, like that it has a forward slash in it, the command line client is OK with it but Zigersion barfs. That's ok - tortoisesvn doesn't do so well either.

I wanted to make sure students and other non-commercial users aren't turned away due to the price. This application has two different licenses: - A free, non-commercial license: "Our free license is for non-commercial use only. Typical examples of this include home, open-source and student use." - A commercial license for $139 that you can buy through Kagi Note: I have no affiliation with the developer of this application. Wow. FInally a Subversion client for OS X that appears to not suck and actually looks like a Mac app! Nice work. Note however that the licensing for this is still up in the air and this beta version comes with a 30-day trial license. From the ZigVersion web site: "ZigVersion is a closed source commercial product. The price has not been set yet, but we're planning on making licenses for personal, opensource, and educational use free." So "Free" isn't probably the best description for this license :)
