MailWidget overview

MailWidget announces the arrival of new mail. It is a direct extension to Apple Mail. But Apple Mail does not have to run all the time in background. The usage is very simple and intuitive. Download it and try it yourself.

Still opens Mail nicely but still gives no indication of waiting mail. That stopped several versions ago (iMac, OS 10.7.3)

Brilliant little widget! As another posted, it would be nice to be able to check multiple accounts with one instance of the widget though. Otherwise, it's simple, works great and I use it every day.

Some users report an issue after updating to Mac OS X 10.6.4. During installation Apple Mail gets updated and requires to update all mailboxes to work with the new version. However MailWidget seems to interfere this update process. To overcome this, please remove all instances of MailWidget from Dashboard. Launch Apple Mail from Spotlight or by finding it on the Volume and let it update the mailboxes. After that you can recreate your instances of MailWidget.

This widget does exactly what the developer says it does. No problems thus far, and it's great to finally not have to have Mail.app open all of the time. Thanks to the developer for continued widget development! Best Regards, JD
