Songsheet Generator overview

Songsheet Generator is an application which prints songsheets and songbooks for home, small group, or large group overhead use. The program runs on any platform that supports Java 1.6 (.jar file) (Java 1.7 or later preferred). Song files must be provided in the ChordPro format, a common text format found on the Internet (ChordPro files are easy to make yourself, if you can't find the song you're looking for). Also Songsheet Generator will import some basic tab (CRD) files, so you can print a songsheet or songbook from any songs you might already have in that format.

This program is distributed under the GNU General Public License.

Note: The application is fully functional but is supported by donations.

Been using Songsheet Generator for years now. It is the best on its class and essential in my workflow. It handles most everything I need in converting from chords over text to ChordPro. It is the best I've found on converting tablature correctly, where others make a mess. Plus, it lets you make songbooks (I use it for sets and organization, among other things), project full screen, custom chord charts, etc. And what's best, the developer is extremely responsive when there is need to change the program code or crush a bug. Case in point, this version 1.6.4. When he found out it didn't work without the old Apple Java, he got to work and fixed it. It is now working flawlessly on Yosemite, Retina MBP and Oracle Java (plus old Apple Java, if that's what you need). This app is so useful that, even though you can't beat the price, I've made a donation, without a doubt in my mind.

Best I've found so far for getting from ChordPro format to a lead sheet with ukulele chord diagrams. The only downside is that there's no built-in uke chord library. On the upside, once you've used a chord, it's there waiting for you to use again next time, so no big problem.

Truly a wonderful application. I have to do printouts of music for musicians (guitarists, mainly) and Songsheet Generator allows me to keep a complete library of music to choose from at my fingertips with the options of showing chords or not on the printouts. A program that doesn't have a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles but does what it says and does it well. It's easy to use and works without a hiccup. The author has done regular updates on it and responds quickly to emails. Paying a small registration fee to support this type of application was worth it, even though the author doesn't require it. Great program!
