DVDesktop is a GREAT idea, no doubt. But please let it be able to play VIDEO_TS files without a hitch. It only makes sense. Also, the control panel disappeared at one point and had to delete the app support and plist file to get it back. But overall, great job on this! Thanks!

I like the idea of DVDesktop, but version 1.1.2 seems to have 2 bugs! 1) If you uncheck "Play movie when DVDekstop Starts" and uncheck "Play DVD when inserted" then quit DVDesktop, relaunch it and try to play a Video_TS folder, it gets stuck in a short loop or fails whether you attempt to play via the button on the controller or via the menu. 2) When you hit the "Eject" button on the controller or "Close Video_TS Folder" via the menu, it resets all my open Finder windows as if I hit Command-Shift-C from the Finder's "GO" menu. Only happens with Video_TS folders and not with mounted or inserted DVD's. Otherwise I'd give this one a 5 star across the board. Great idea for multi-taskers like fo me! Keep up the great work!

MPlayer unfortunately doesn't work with all DVDs and the version that actually did make the movie play as a background image hasn't been updated in over a year, so that's not really an option over here. DVDesktop actually worked very well for me and seems like a great program, but I have two "out of the box" issues with it: 1) It's too expensive. For a program that does one thing that I won't use all that often, I can't justify spending $20. This isn't to say that the program doesn't perform well or seem to have had a lot of hard work put into it. To request 1/6 the cost of an entire operating system for one missing feature (DVD Player really should have this feature built in) is asking more than I care to pay. 2) Having some basic features (e.g. the Main Menu button) ferreted away in a separate menu rather than on the main remote window makes it seem as if a little more UI work needs to be done before this is really ready for retail. Maybe I'm just being extremely picky and stingy? Well, I don't expect it to be free (maybe $5-9?) and I don't expect the feature set to be perfect (especially if the price were lower), but for me these two items prevent me from plunking down any money for now. Since the demo abruptly coughed up a "pay or get out" message, I think I'll walk away unsatisfied and hope for a better experience in the future.

Well, the idea is cool but I'm afraid it just doesn't work properly. When in windowed mode, I cannot grab the corner to resize it, when in windowed + front mode I cannot access the menu anymore (it pops under the window) and when in desktop mode I cannot click on icons on desktop anymore (even with that "enable clicks" option on)
