After being pleased with the 30-day demo I bought two licenses for this application to use with both of my Macs.

Unfortunately this app stopped working properly. I did several hours of troubleshooting with no success. I contacted the developer and waited for a reply. After waiting for a week without hearing anything back, I contacted them again. No response.

Bottom line: the software doesn't work and developer support is non-existent.

Don't buy.

This application has ALOT of potential, but it's seriously bugged in my experience. It's adding duplicate files with odd random names, and the playlist option isn't working right either.

Multiple emails to the developers have resulted in absolutely no response.

Too bad...I recommend checking out ChronoSync.

I had been looking for a piece of software to seamlessly keep a client's folder up-to-date with the same client's folder on another machine in my home. I could do it via filesharing, which I had been doing, but I had to manually update one or the other machines. SlingShot works flawlessly. I have encountered no problems with it and the iTunes sync is just cool. I do wish the syncing could be configured to update from a folder outside of my network, but maybe that will come in a slightly later version. Great job guys.

I just tried SlingShot 1.03 and I'm disappointed... The password field doesn;t use bullets to obscure the password; its readable both when entering it and when editing it later. The password is also readable in the log since it stored there in plain text. I unchecked the check button to allow a published folder to accept updates, but the log indicated that it was still accepting updates! This could cause data loss! Also, my remote system (the subscriber) could not subscribe to a published folder since it would never accept my password, it kept saying it was wrong when it was EXACTLY the same.

Maybe a future version will work better, but for now, be SURE to try this before you buy it...

SlingShot makes the process of keeping files and now iTunes Playlists in sync between two or more Maces as simple as a few clicks. By incorporating Apple's "Bonjour" technology, SlingShot makes finding and connecting to other computers on a network easy. It's the easiest way to keep your music -- including the expensive songs you've bought from the iTunes Music Store -- backed up and available on all of your computers.

With SlingShot you can Publish an iTunes Playlist of music onto the network and then Subscribe to the Playlist from other computers. SlingShot will copy over any songs from the Published Playlist that aren't in the Subcriber's iTunes Library, add them to the Library, and then recreate the Playlist on the Subscriber. Then it will check periodically to see if the Playlist has been changed; any changes will be reflected in the Subscriber's copy of the Playlist.

SlingShot is also still the simplest way to keep files (and now iTunes music) in sync between two or more Macs. By incorporating Apple's "Bonjour" technology, SlingShot makes finding and connecting to other computers on a network easy. With SlingShot 2.0, it is now easier than ever to share and back up your music collection on all the Macs on a local network.
