XTabulator overview

XTabulator is a tabular data file editor for Mac OS X. With XTabulator, you can edit, manipulate, massage, slice, and dice comma-separated (CSV), tab-separated (TAB), or anything-separated files quickly and easily.

Why use bulky, dumb, or just-plain-wrong tools to manipulate or reformat tabular data files? XTabulator's speed and intuitive features let you get the task done in a fraction of the time.

What’s new in version 2.007

The developer's website mentions opening a 50MB file in seconds, so I tried with a 30MB CSV file that I had. First it couldn't recognize that it used comma delimiters, not sure why. Then I let it try to open it for a few minutes, but finally canceled when it hit the 900MB memory mark. I didn't get a chance to try the application, but if my system couldn't handle opening the file, I doubt it would be able to do much with it once it was open.

I work with tabular data a lot every day. I try to open fews differents files with this, in csv, txt, ... with separator "," , ";" ,"tab","|" , ended with LF or CR/LF, ... absolutly without success !? Always the two same error : "some line don"t have the same number of columns..." (that is false...) and "wrong encoding" ??? (just text in iso or utf8 format) So what ? Maybe i've made something wrong. In other case, this soft is absolutly unuseful...
