Safari Guide is a free application for Mac OS X Tiger that allows developers to evaluate arbitrary XPath, XQuery, and JavaScript expressions against the current frontmost Safari webpage.

Using Safari Guide is easy...

  1. Open a webpage or XML document in a Safari browser window.
  2. Launch Safari Guide and type an XPath expression into the XPath text field, or an XQuery into the XQuery text area, or a JavaScript expression into the JavaScript text area.
  3. Click 'Evaluate' and watch the matching sequence of nodes or JavaScript value from the front Safari window appear.

Version 1.3.1:
  • User help available under the Help menu including links to tutorials and resources for learning XSTL, XPath and XQuery.
  • You can now select and copy the text in the result tables under the XPath and XQuery tabs.
