Download link broken (http://hobbes.osxy.nl/download.php?fileID=11)
Developer link in Dutch and seems to have no mention of Say Cheese

I still have a copy I run, but it's broken for most strips due to age and probably copyright issues (see FreeComics and Funny Pages listings for comments on this).

Last update was November 2008? It's dead, Jim.

Oh well, Free Comics still works on the large majority of its comics for me since I downloaded it before it was embargoed by the copyright police. Funny Pages works but I've only tried the demo and because it is pay-for shareware, I predict it'll get obliterated by the copyright people posthaste.

I agree. It's the only weak point I found in this widget.

Would be nice to be able to specify a scale for comic images, for those of us whose eyesight is lacking...

I used pornel's version, and uploaded a fixed one on http://patchoulol.free.fr/Say-Cheese-leopard.wdgt.zip

Now :
- Graphics are OK
- Calvin & Hobbes are OK

Your fix is great! The graphics aren't skewed anymore and Calvin and Hobbes works now.

But Sinfest appears to be broken. When Sinfest is selected on either of my Macs it locks up the entire dashboard for a long time.

Also, I can see on my network monitor that there's a connection from the dashboard to www.sinfest.net that keeps spinning.

Finally, I notice that when Sinfest is selected it jumps to an odd date where there's obviously no comic, like November 30th, 1899.

After a while the network connection stops spinning, the dashboard unlocks and a new comic can be selected, but nothing from Sinfest ever actually loads.

I've noticed similar behaviour if you try to go far back into the Penny Arcade archives for example.

Is this happening to anyone else, or just me?

Thanks!

I truly love this widget, but I would like it if there were more comics to choose. There are several of the comics that just give "Error" now such as "Calvin & Hobbes", "Shoe" and "Wulffmorgenthaler" to name a few. I think there are more, but I don't have them selected. I used to get all three of these and now none of them display.

If I have done something wrong or done something that I shouldn't have please let me know. "Calvin & Hobbes" is one of my favorites comics.

Thanks for this widget.

This is a great widget. I think the only thing that would make it better is the inclusion of "The White Ninja".

I look forward to updates.

flipping brilliant! works smoothly and it has some of the best internet comics - though it is limited by the fact that you can't subscribe to more. But hey, it's free.

And I will repeat it again: Adding comics is out of the question here.
We provide quality control on the comics so that they load as fast as possible and with less errors.
We'll include more comics (on request) in the next releases.
The reasen for this is that most of the webcomics does't have a "normal" archive it has been changed during time and you can't relay on 1 link. (site.com/ddmmyyyy.jpeg next week HDIDEyymmdd.png (numbers are total not-regular))
It takes a lot of core-programming to let al the comics work.

Say Cheese isn't able to load the daily Peanuts comic. I assume this is because the comic website has been updated or changed.

Is there an easy way to fix this? If not, will a new Say Cheese update be coming anytime soon?

Thanks.

I just downloaded the Leapord version of Say Cheese and the Calvin & Hobbes doesn't work. Also, the buttons on the info section (back of the widget) are off-set. Besides that it seems fine though occasionally it locks up Dashboard temporarily.

Need help:
I upgrade to leopard and now Say Cheese widget still works but the graphic is a bit funny.
It seems to me that there are some mistakes in html code 'cause the yellow graphic is always misplaced.

Thanks for helping me

I've also got a display issue with this widget, version 2.3 according to Macupdate, from where I downloaded it. However, the version number is unspecified in the GetInfo window, other than 'Created: Saturday, 1 July 2006'.The widget does not have a solid yellow border when viewing a comic. Parts of the border are missing.

A later version doesn't display Calvin & Hobbes at all, I just get 'Error'. Its GetInfo widow says 'Created: Saturday, 24 November 2007'.
Am running Mac OS 10.5.1.

Delete the preferences.
- Close the widget
- Delete: Library/Preferences/widget-killerwidgets.widget.say cheese.plist
- Open the widget.

Don't look at Shaw Island, it is broken, the developer has stopped making Shaw Island.
