The app is no longer developed - don't buy it. Used to be a great app, but it is no longer being actively updated and has fallen behind the times. Unfortunately, this app is no longer being developed and improved to keep up with iTunes podcast requirements. For example, iTunes now requires higher quality images that are 1400x1400px. This app, however, downgrades the podcast images to 600x600 and 144x144. I just had my 243 episode podcast (nearly 5 years worth of podcasts) rejected and removed by iTunes for this reason and possibly others. It's really too bad the developer of this software isn't keeping it updated to iTunes required settings. I've sent him numerous support emails over the past 2-3 years and they have all gone unanswered. I wish someone would purchase the app and give it a good update because there isn't any other Mac software out there that does what this app used to do quite well. I cannot recommend this app any longer. Don't waste your money buying it. Try the trial and then try to submit to iTunes and you'll see that you won't be accepted.

Horrible. the program does not open with Yosemite. This app won't even launch after upgrading to Yosemite. I've tried multiple machines and reboots, etc. to no avail. I reached out to the developers and as others have reported as well, heard nothing back. Any advise???

I used Podcast Maker for several years and was deeply disappointed when it wasn't updated for Yosemite. It took a while searching but I found Feeder and am very happy with it. It took a little while getting used to the interface change but since I have acclimated to it I actually like it much better than Podcast Maker. Plus, the developer of Feeder is very responsive to questions and concerns.

Super bummed to report that this app won't even launch after upgrading to Yosemite. I've tried multiple machines and reboots, etc. to no avail. I reached out to the developers and as others have reported as well, heard nothing back. This sucks. Podcast Maker was literally the last way I've been able to find to add chapters/art/etc. to m4a podcast files. My show will be MUCH harder to produce, and much less rich (for lack of chapter art and links) than it used to be thanks to the demise of this app.

Agreed. The developer NEVER responds back. It is unlikely that this will be updated, and while I can get it to launch, it immediately freezes up before any splash window. So you can't do any editing at all.

Dang, this application is now obsolete and is no longer creating an RSS/XML file to iTunes required standards. Don't waste your money. Developer does not respond to support requests for the past 1-2 years.

This is a great piece of software. I've been using it for the last couple of months. Lately I'm unable to upload new episodes to my podcast because the process stops right after "converting to M4A" finishes. I'm getting a message "error code: 0" during the enhancement process of my episode. I'm using OS 10.6.1.

@Monty Lee -- Perhaps your response is being filtered somehow? Marked as SPAM? I have virtually the opposite of your experience with support. Andy is lightning fast in responding, and does an excellent job of helping users out. I know he is busy with an iPhone app he is developing for The Hit List. Not that being busy with another app is an excuse for not responding, but I think maybe something out of Andy's control is in play here...

Well I've used their automatic form in the program, all three of their addresses on the support page PLUS the email address listed in the program, two different personal email addresses AND my .mac email address, and three different computers. If they are flagging it as spam, then they have their filters set way too high. If you block all email from users, it kind of makes support non-existent. As for the question, it was very simple: How do you capture or print ALL the podcast Episode titles, date, and description. iTunes and Podcast Maker do not wrap the description so you can never see the entire description for all the episodes. So is there a way to print this (pdf) to use as a guide?

First, let me say up front that the software is good. It does exactly what it claims to do in that it makes it easy to publish a podcast. I have found the program reliable and stable. My complaint is that you get no support from the author. I have emailed him via his online form and email several times over the past two months with a very simple support question, and you get no response at all (no form response, no notice about delays in responding, nothing at all). Granted that developers may be swamped at times with support requests, but most will at least respond back to you in some form or refer you to FAQs or forums that may answer the question. This developer doesn't respond at all. So my caveat is that try it before you buy, and if you think you might have questions, try and get them answered before you spend your money.

Just Brilliant. After a long, bad experience with RapidWeaver, which ended with 96 podcast posts ruined by an update, I decided that it was time to move on. I discovered Podcast Maker and have not looked back. This program is amazingly simple to use and lightning fast. Creating a podcast entry literally takes under a minute. If you're considering this program, consider no longer. It is a joy to use. Well done!

Sorry. I'd actually like to retract the above. After a long period of use, I ran into some problems that stopped this program working altogether. I contacted support. And then again. And again and again and again but they do not even have the courtesy to respond. I have now dumped this product and use Feeder which is far superior, is regularly updated and the support is fantastic.

Is there any app like this (this is a great app BTW) that includes the recording piece with it? This is for my wife - and I am trying to set it up as simple as possible and would prefer to keep her from needing to use audacity too...

This is an absolutely brilliant piece of software, both for beginning as well as advanced podcasters. Quickly setting up a podcast is a breeze and the ability to check what the final podcast will look in the iTunes music store is extremely handy. Podcast Maker let's you create your podcast and enhanced podcast with drag and drop. Creating various chapters for your podcast is as easy as just dragging a marker around on the timeline and the program lets you zoom in for extra precision. When creating an enhanced podcast, Podcast Maker will do the M4A conversion for you automatically. Couldn't be easier! You can publish your podcast to a variety of accounts (.Mac, FTP, SFTP) and it'll import existing podcasts if you choose to do so. Even if you're just getting started in podcast making, this is a $30 very well spent!
