Among it's features:
  • Supports AIM, .Mac, Jabber, and Bonjour accounts

  • Changes color based on your available status
  • Displays buddies' real first and last names
  • Supports custom away messages

Version 1.3:
  • iCW now properly opens Bonjour and Jabber buddies
  • iCW no longer truncates the buddy list when long buddy names are present in the list
  • Reduced size of icon.
  • Added version number to widget.
  • iCW now supports all services supported by iChat (AIM, .Mac, Jabber, Bonjour).

Interface needs work. not really apple hid-compliant, but almost there. most notable, make a flip-side and slap that ugly-ass version number on it instead of plastering it on the usable side. Additionally, the version number displays 1.21 for 1.3. Get rid of the service-specific icons, or give us the option to - ON THE FLIP-SIDE. Sorely lacking customizability.

well - it looks promising - as i find the ichat window way too big - especially when i have aim and jabber open at the same size but for me this widget does not work - it seems that the user names are too long for it (as in jabber i have the email addresses shown - which are long) - spilling over - and the it only displays the first two contacts what i reall want is a widget that i can easily access and will show my ichat (showing aim and msn(through jabber) ( and if somehow skype functionality could be added that would be amazing)) also if it was collapsable that would be great,so would groups be, and if double clicking opened a chat that would also be great (also that ichat icon is totally unnecessary) I am REALLY looking forward to this widget (or another for that matter) to appear to stop me having 3 windows open for my im programs taking up a huge amount of my desktop space James

In version 1.2 my iChat widget window won't show all buddies that are online. It only shows those who are active (green) and neglects to show those that are idle or away (yellow and red). This needs to be fixed. Also, I agree that the iChat icon attached to the right upper corner is excessively large and cumbersome.

Doesn't work for me. This is my first download of it (1.2) and it didn't resize. Also, I can't configure it either. When I click on a name it open Adium (which I don't want it to do.

Good, but it only shows people who are Green and people who were green and now idle. Doesnt show people who are red. I would suggest you change it so it can show ppl who are red. If you can change that ill give it a complete 5

Sweet widget, but please get rid of the oversized and completely useless iChat icon. If anything, it at least doesn't need to be that massive. It's not hard to pick out a buddy list on the Dashboard

Great, but: - It won't be added to the Dashboard "toolbar" if you put it in "/Library/Widgets" - If you remove it, you won't be able to re-add it unless you erase its pref file - It's missing a button that sets the status (connected, disconnected, busy,... Like the iChat menu)

Could you please describe the first two in a little more detail? I haven't heard from anybody else who has had this problem.

well you shouldn't be instructing folks to put stuff in the system's /Library/Widgets - instead direct them to the user's widget folder at ~/Library/Widgets
