Time To Live network packet haxie.

Overview

NoTTL is a haxie to intercept and prevent an application's attempt to adjust packets Time To Live value. This can allow some applications that only work on the local LAN work across sub-nets or even the internet.

http://www.intrarts.com/Files/modttl.tgz has been around since June of last year (iirc), and does the same thing without using the APE framework, and has the ability to work with even non-Cocoa applications. While I know that well-written APE haxies can make a system unstable, I can't see why APE would be used for something like this. In case you don't know what this program does, it twiddles with packet TTL's and can be used to share iTunes music libraries across a university LAN, for example.

Hrm, didn't know about modttl. Looking at the source it seems work like a passthough which would imply different performance characteristics and you'd need to use the command line to set it up. That said, it and NoTTL produce the same end results. Use whichever floats your boat.
