Nice thought, but this virus has never been seen in the wild, and probably won't be... the whole mechanism it uses is just too fragile. If you just drag your music into itunes you'll do just as well. Now if only Apple would take out all the "automatically unpack archives and run installers by default" stuff in Safari...

It's also not a virus. It's an application that has an iTunes mp3 document icon and does contain a short audio clip. THERE ARE NO VIRUSES FOR Mac OS X.

don't quote me on this.. but i think you can turn off safari's ability to auto open 'safe' files (such as .dmg etc..) :)

don't need to wait for apple to "take it out" simply (1) open safari (2) go to menu item Safari>Preference or press cmd + , (3) Select the "General" Preference Pane (4) Uncheck the box labeled "Open "safe" files after downloading"
