It's exactly what I was looking for! It's simple and I love that it's translucent. I'd like it even more if I could adjust the size. I would want to make it larger at times when I'm not so close to the computer.
Thank you! :)
Does anyone else out there have a Mac Pro? I've used this little app for about a year (PowerBook, PowerMac, and lastly MacBook) with no trouble.
I tried to install this on my new Mac Pro, and it won't accept my registration number. I paid the $, got registration, and now it rejects the registration as "invalid".
The only difference that I can ID is the Xeon chips, and I can't for the life me understand why that matter at all.
Also, support e-mail has changed. I'm now waiting for a reply.
Frank.
You put the finger on it, you did. Insults have no place on a community site (or in any other environment for that matter). It serves no purpose and just brings on a taste of bitterness. Why do some people treat others with so little respect? Beats me. I have, as you and most others, nothing but respect and gratitude to all these hard working developers. Without whom I would have a less easy and less sufficient work environment and for that matter, a duller one as well. A few of the developer I have gotten a personal contact with and they are lovely and delightful people. I can't do what these experts do, so fare play to ye all. Well done, indeed. And don't ye go listen to begrudgers at all.
Web-Master. Please extend your blacklist to include insulting behavior and backbiting.
Looks great, works fine for me. The translucent floating window is cool. I won't be buying it myself, because $6 seems too steep for something I rarely need on my computer. But at least it's a well-written program.
One major flaw in an application that's called WatchIt -
Is why can't it just display the time if it's not being used
as a stopwatch.
Seems like a sensible idea to have all the functions of a good
alarm clock or wrist watch rather than just being only an
application that is emulating a stopwatch.
If it had this duel aspect I might purchase and WatchIt.
In reference to "anonymous" who wrote: "Plenty of cool FREE clocks at resexcellence, why pay this muppet $5 (4/6/2004, Version: 0.2)"
I've discovered this individual has posted many very negative comments on this site. He can never be satisfied and will never be grateful for those individuals who make an effort to support the Mac platform.
To all developers - keep up the great work! It makes a difference.
The current version uses 0.00% to 2.00% of my CPU on a 1GHz G4. Older versions did have a bug that caused excessive CPU use, but this has been fixed for a long time.
hy, i tested this app. for a few days. this little programm uses up to 90% of my cpu (ibook G4/800, osx 10.3.3)... it ran in the background and i was wondering why everything else slowed down like slow motion... i guess theres a bug somwhere...
Watch It is a superb time-keeping tool, with excellent features, great interface and superb graphics.
I use it to track client time when I'm in production and franky -- at only $5.00 -- its a bargain.
Why grumble about great software that costs far less than a cup of coffee at Starbuck$? Give me a break.
Would be nice if you could turn off the seconds and milliseconds. If you're timing a long session of work, the milliseconds especially are quite annoying.
Nice and simple, though, and that's what it should be.
Great and valuable app.
I second the request on transparency % toggle.... along with the ability to control the app via keyboard shortcuts... at least to pause and restart the watch.. even if it's just the spacebar when the app is in the front ( a la Quicktime Player)
Wonderful
The author has very quickly responded to requests and added a size preference. If he can add a DEGREE OF TRANSPARENCY option and a PAUSE button, he may well have created one of those indispensable utilities for us users. Well done
