Overview

Brushed is a ShapeShifter theme that allows you to change the entire user interface of your Mac. This particular theme makes everything a brushed metal interface with color highlights. It includes icons, desktop pictures and dock skins.

What's new in Brushed

Version 3.5 adds the following:
  • Added all Panther specific elements.
  • Went trough and updated existing elements.
  • Major compromises to get the theme to look ok. The theme no longer has menubar or titlebar highlights. Metal apps wont have their Brushed texture, this is due to a compromise in the current version of ShapeShifter (1.0.1) and it will be resolved in a future update. It's also very likely that the menubar and titlebar highlight will return in a future version if it becomes possible.
  • New titlebar buttons.

Still the most elegant theme and well executed in every detail. Would only love to have the menu bar slightly brighter - same as Safari - and maybe blue as a pull-down menu highlight color to match the color of the apple in the menu bar.

SPECTRE: I suspect that your monitor is miscalibrated, because the menus are most decidedly either black or greyish silver. There is no brown to speak of. This theme is simply elegant - and one of the few themes that is truly useable on a daily basis by "pros" and "consumers" alike.

OK except the poo-brown menus. Lacks the 3-dimensionality of brushed in jaguar. Hopefully, this will be improved with future updates of shapeshifter.
