VChat - 1.1a1 Universal Binary is a must have app for those with the new Macs with the built-in iSight camera.
An updated CuSeeMe client that allows video/audio conferencing
with groups of users via a simultaneous connection to a Refector site.
The app is very stable and a user-friendly guide is located at: http://www.daffi.org/vchat.htm
Enjoy!!!
The app does not work with the Zoom Quickcam although the driver is installed and works under iSpQ.
Does anyone know what needs to be done?
I can't rate the product since I can't use it.
Thanks.
Marco is NOT the author of this software - he is credited with the WASTE engine.
The future of the software is undecided. It was written for my own use and is made available in beta form until such time as I see how much interest there is and whether it is worth making it chargeable and being prepared for the support/ehancement cycles that requires.
This webpage shows Marco Piovanelli as the author. That is incorrect... Macro is credited for the WASTE engine, not for writing VChat. Unfortunately noone appears to take credit for writing this software. The copyright says "Rodney Truck Parts Ltd".
An alert dialog box indicates that this is a beta version of vChat which expires on Sep 15, 2003 and that an updated version will be available prior to expiration. It does not state whether or not subsequent versions will be public domain, shareware, or commercial. In light of this, recommend this software be reclassified from "free" to "unknown" until the author specifies what the future versions will be.
