Version 3.2.2:
- This version offers improved support for integration and differential equations
- Improved support for subscripted variables. New features include the ability to define subscripted sequences, load values for sequences from tables, and display sequence values in tables
- DirectMath gained the ability to export live documents to the web. Version 3.1 introduces a set of tools designed to make it easier to set up and run a web server that will serve up documents exported from DirectMath. The new DirectMath server package is an easy to use, self-contained server application that includes all of the tools needed to serve up documents containing live click-and-drag computation capabilities

EDITOR: The author's web site states that this program is now free. Please update accordingly.
This is an amazing piece program. Not a toy and immediately useful. Takes the fear out of Mathematica and presumably Maxima as both are listed as backends. Withut the backends you still have a mathematical word processor with a uber-cool drawing environment that you are not likely to find anywhere else.

I found version 3 of directmath on their site. It works great here with Mac OS X Yosemite and mathematica 10.3.1! It is a wonderful program which simplifies much. And after attaching the mathematica engine it calculates most simple expressions fast and easy.
