This game offers a great deal for players to do and is quite stunning, visually. It no longer suffers from as much slowdown and freezing as it used to, but overall gameplay is much slowed due to having to wait around for spec drive to "charge up", rather than instanly teleporting to the desired location. There is a plethora of good sound effects and various missions to accept. Good game, but just a little too slow.

Vega Strike's a good game overall. The graphics and sound are great and it can be immersive, however, it slows down and freezes up too much for me to rate it that well in playability. Still, future improvements will make this game great.

Great game, very fun to play, however after i quit it it takes the finder about 2 min to get up to speed... and it seems to be using over 400 MB of RAM when it runs.... it needs multiple saves and a remap of some of the keys (F12 for instance, ejects any cd you may have in the drive, so having it set as zoom out doesnt work very well..) The game stopped for about 30 seconds every time i made a jump, kind of annoying, but not a game killer for me. it crashed twice during a 5 day period (about 10 hours total) it needs a way to config it without having to install X11 The graphics and sound are supurb for a game of its kind, and even with its issues, it is still a fun and rewarding game.I am sure that with future development it will become better and these bugs/issues will be addressed... after all, its only version .4.1C

lots of good mods (bab6, wing commander, star trek, star wars) are being made for this game too.

the new 0.4.1 version is actually fun to play, as opposed to previous versions. The space combat is balanced, and the exploration is fun, and the new ship models look awesome! My only complaint is the economy system, but some would probably like the style.

This game is really something. Ive spent hours flying around trying to get the hang of combat, but once i did, it really opened up the game. Theres a hude number of planets, space stations, and systems to explore, and endless missions to complete. It takes some getting used to, but if you remember playing Elite and loving it, yo should feel right at home. As for EV Nova, its also a great game, but its not the same as Elite and shouldnt be categorised in that way. If you like space trading/combat games, you should try both these games out.

Nearly got very pi***d off with it and trashed it till i read the forums but now im as happy as larry. The mac has needed an Elite / Frontier type game and this is it. Far better than EV Nova which i paid for..... BOO :? I have turned all the full screen mentions to false and now it works..... WHOOOOOHOOOOOO :D If it dont work on your system go to the VS Forums/general/miss suffing and read the tips. Worked first time editing the file with text edit on OS10.2.3 I CANT BELIVE THIS IS A FREE GAME!!!!
