I tried it out and I m a Usenet Fan and I don't like it.It has a terrible interface and to say it is great is really an error on the user's part. It is sad that the choices on Mavericks are so few. Hogwasher refuses to update,MtNewswatcher can no longer be launched in Mavericks and Thoth is still a good choice. But this one is a maze of convolutions that only spell trouble.

The best newsreader in the universe got the first update after two years. MacSOUP is still the best choice for reading, collecting and following news articles on a Mac. Even under Windows I found nothing close.

Bought this year's ago under the Mac OS (pre-X). The selling point is the handling of message threads (excellent visual representation) and the ability to read off-line. I also like the way that you can reformat messages easily (command-R). Under OS X, it's looking a bit dated to me, both in appearance and function. It's ready for a revamp. But still solid under OS X 10.4.5.

Sorry, but I think this one of the most terrible apps I used on osx until now: 1. It's not intuitive at al. And so are the menu-entries. Why do I have to do so many different steps in so many different menu-entries? Why not everything in one go? Choose the newsserver, get groups, subscribe alltogether? 2. The user-interface is so ugly. 3. It doesn't work exactly as described in the manual. After I managed to get the news I could'nt open them. They were in the list, but I were not able to read them (besides, what's this crap with "enter" / "space"? If I wanted to be bound to keys I could've been using the terminal...

This is a decent program, but, come on, isn't it time to update the description? Claris Emailer? That's been dead for years... Open Transport? Is this a time warp?

Superb with great support from author. Yes, I would like attachments but I can live without it. Minimalist approach is best. You can delete an e-mail without it opening-something I hope the author retains in future builds.

I have to say that this program has the best thread handling of any newsreader I've used. It generates a "London Underground"-style map of the thread, avoiding the limitations of the hiararchical view used in most other news readers. It's got lots of other nice little features such as highlighting replies to your own posts, but I feel that the tagging feature could have been better implimented. Almost all the configuration is handled by Internet Config, meaning settings from other Internet apps are easily carried across. The only real letdown is that there is no binary handling built in.
