Pardon me, but I do not think I want to use a program that is supposed to check grammar and spelling when, on their support page, they refer to "Frequently Asked Questions" as FAQ's. "Questions" is plural. There is no need for an apostrophe-s as this denotes possession! See it for yourself at http://www.linguisoft.com/support.html Even if this has become common usage, it is still grammatically incorrect. Gimme a break!

Version 3 looks amazing and finally a replacement for Spell Catcher which I had been using since it since it was called Thunder 7. This version of Grammarian is 64-bit so maybe I’ll finally be able to upgrade to Catalina as losing Spell Catcher was a major worry. This pup is fast too. While no upgrade discount from version 2, it is on sale for awhile so I’m happy to support the developer.

I love the total system wide integration. And it works as well as advertised. The only feature I'd like to see added would be a plagiarism checker.

As a college instructor, I must review more than 100 papers every two weeks. Grammarian is my go-to choice for catching errors I might miss after hours of reading content. Yes, the university subscribes to two automated systems, but those SaaS apps and Grammarly are less accurate. When I had a problem after upgrading to a new MacBook Pro, I had random crashed. The problem turned out to be easy to fix thanks to good tech support. Because only one or two papers were crashing during "AutoMark" I failed to realize only spelling errors were crashing the app - there was a corrupt dictionary file. I am going to buy another license for an iMac. I look forward to future updates that are 64-bit so they avoid any warnings from Apple.

I wonder who would spend 50 $ (well, they ask '49,95', which is already A SHAME, a way to insulte the intelligence of the audience!) for something we can't even try (and that most probably would be not less presumptuous than Grammarly!)

When you download and instal the software, it instals itself with an initial 7-day TRIAL period. So, indeed, you *can* try all of its features before deciding whether to buy it.

AFAIK, Grammarian Pro is the only grammar-checker that integrates directly into the MacOS, and allows you to check both spelling and grammar 'as-you-type' across all your apps - including Mail, Pages, Scrivener, and others. You can set specific preferences for the individual apps, so it can, for example, check your writing differently in Mail than it does in Scrivener.

As far as the pricing goes, I agree that $50 is a relatively high price in today's market - specially as app prices seem to be getting lower and lower. However, compare that to the price of its main competitor, Grammarly: that is a subscription-ware package, where you'd be paying in excess of $100/year...

It’s all on our website folks. Usually, an insult, and shame, is to not know the facts before engaging the mouth. See our website: https://linguisoft.com/index.html

1. From our website home page: The Grammarian PRO2 product is available as a Mac download-only app. The download is a 7 day free trial commercial demo. Buy a registration license to unlock the demo into a full non-expiring licensed copy.

2. Grammarian PRO2 (all versions) has been the same price for 18 years. Before the year 2000, Grammarian was $40, since 1984. Grammarian PRO2 has been published for over 34 years.

3. Grammarian PRO2 is not subscription based. Buy it once and own it.

4. Currently, we also provide a free online demo. So, we have TWO free tryout demo models. See details here: https://linguisoft.com/index.html

5. The price will definitely go up soon folks. So, get it now.

Almost useless. It monetary worth shouldn't exceed $5 for what it does:
1. I tried it on article and most of the suggestions were either wrong or useless.
2. The graphical interface belongs to the seventies.
3. The font size and type are not good for the eyes.

Thank you for your comments.

Grammarian is very much active. And, another major Grammarian upgrade is currently in the works. And more Grammarian PRO2 X free updates are still forthcoming. Sending your suggestions to tech support (support@linguisoft.com) is extremely important. This enables me to prioritize the work scheduling of improvements.

Nonetheless, the font size settings are changeable preference settings under Preferences/Window Features. And, I'd love to see a grammar/spelling check screenshot. Better yet, please send the article with the issues that you mentioned. Grammar and spelling checking accuracy is our uppermost emphasis.

Checked the following:

Bill's go to store four cheese.

Were gone to the store.

Bill go too store.

Where going to there store.
-------
Grammarian Pro2 only caught "Bill go too store"
and then only corrected go to goes.

Pretty lame.

Thanks ... Ken

I also selected a lot of "Grammar Instructions" under "Writing Rules."
I have no idea what they meant.

Grammarian wanted to substitute "a lot of" with "many."
I don't know if that is better or not.

But it still only caught the one error mentioned above.

I'm far from a grammar expert.

These examples border on profoundness. Read the examples out loud. Do you find it easy or difficult to read and parse? Grammarian will try to parse it correctly. However, Grammarian would rather let the questionable suspect tag pass then to flag a suspect in err. Grammarian's credibility is on the line.

Nonetheless, II'll use these examples for current reference. Thanks. Hope this helps.

Grammarian's author wrote: " However, Grammarian would rather let the questionable suspect tag pass then to flag a suspect in error". I think this is a poor decision. I would much rather have Grammarian flag a "suspect" error for me to examine rather than fail to draw my attention to it. This would be like setting the sensitivity of a screening test for a disease--let the user make the choice.
