Epson C82 -I had no problems with this printer until.. the second time I had to replace the ink cartridges. I replaced all of the cartridges at the same time, with Epson cartridges, charged them and went to print. It just spit out blank pages. I spend hours trouble shooting on my computer and on line. I went to customer support and they said there was nothing that could be done, take it to a repair center and maybe they could fix it. However they thought I would just be out a printer. How can this be possible it was printing perfect before replacing the ink. I just spent over $70 on new cartriges and I'm not going to take it in for repair because I'm afraid I'll just get charged for them to tell me it has to be replaced. I'm very dissapointed with Epson and I will ot buy another product from them.
I'm having the exact same problem. I replaced the cartridges with Epson Cartidges and all I get is blank pages. I've been without a printer for months and it was the first time I replaced the cartridges.
I just changed my black for the third time and now it won't print anything that is black. I am so disappointed with this printer. This must be a common problem with this printer and I will never again buy an Epson printer and will gladly share my exerience with others looking for a printer.
I have been using the C82 for over a year now, replaced every cartridge at least four times, used original Epson replacements as well as WeCare and ProPrint cartridges, and never met any problem. That suggests that the problem is in some individual machines; it's uncomprehensible (and indeed disappointing) that Epson doesn't take any responsability.
Same deal. I just replaced the black cartridge. No printing. so i replaced all cartridges. No printing. I have replaced the cartridges before with no problem. come to think of it, this happened with my C80 which I finally out of frustration replaced with the C82. Tech support and customer support are useless, bland and smug. This once happened with a car of mine which later turned out to be a class action suit. They knew there was aproblem. What can we do except warn people away from epson?
I haven't been able to print since September. I, too, replaced the cartridges with ones from Epson. The machine goes through the motions of printing and the ink idicators even show useage but nothing prints. First and last Epson for me.
Same problem here! A friend suggested I reload the driver - that didn't do a thing. I've written to the Epson folks. I'll keep you posted on their reply.
this is a follow up on the posting I posted at http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/9032
I talked to the Epson folks, they say that it is written in their manual that we MUST turn out printer off at the end of our print day (I still haven't found it in my manual). They said that the problem comes in with the type ink they use - it is good quality - but, it does not seal itself off until the printer is off. Therefore the ink dries out faster and cloggs the heads.
They are going to repair my printer - free of charge and they'll pay the shipping. (I could of had $30. towards a new printer at the Epson online store. I opted for the repair.)
Same thing for me here in Denmark, with replaced new Epson cartridges. Nothing prints out. It happened just 1 year and 1 month after I bought so there is no guarantee any longer (same life expectancy as with my former HP ink jet printer). Whereas my Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS has worked like a tractor for more than 10 years, with 50-300 prints per day.
So I always warn friends when they ask me for advice about which printer to buy. Do not buy a low class cheap ink jet printer.
Quite good printer for it's price!
I USED THE EPSON C82 TO PRINT (8), 100 PAGE THESES. AT $100.00+ A COPY TO PRINT IN COLOR AT MY SCHOOL, THIS MADE A GREAT WAY TO DO IT. ($200.00)
I'VE GOT A NEW (HIGH QUALITY) PRINTER NOW TOO! I BOUGHT A DATA TRANSFER PRINTER SWITCH TO SWITCH BETWEEN PRINTERS FOR MY OTHER, LESS IMPORTANT PRINTING.
LASER COPIERS DON'T HAVE COLOR CONTROLS LIKE THIS DOES! THE INK GETS A LITTLE PRICY, BUT I KEEP ONLY MY PHOTO PRINTING RESERVED FOR THIS ONE!
OVERALL REVIEW: A+
I can't even install the C82 software on my iBook. Pain, pain, pain. On the other hand, I can on my iMac. Different systems, iBook OS9 and iMac 8.5
I just loaded the new driver for my Epson C82 and the installation and use was flawless as usual. The C82 is the best printer, lb for lb and dollar for dollar that I have ever used. This printer has been outstanding in every respect.
I have owned several HPs and other printers as well as several Epsons, and for my money Epson wins.
