Emailchemy reads email files from the proprietary formats of most popular email applications and converts them to standard formats that any application can use.
Emailchemy currently can read the email files and mailboxes from:
AOL for Windows
Apple Mail
Claris Emailer
CompuServe Classic for Macintosh (MacCIM)
CompuServe for Windows
Entourage
Eudora
Mozilla (and Thunderbird)
Mulberry
Musashi
Neoplanet
Netscape
Opera
Outlook
Outlook Express 4 and 5
What's New
Version 11.2.1:
Excludes RSS feeds from Apple Mail conversions
Fixed registration issue on Solaris 11
Improved IMAP server performance
Improved compatibility of IMAP server with Outlook 2010 for Windows
I purchased this application to convert a windows outlook .pst file into mac mail format. I received my license key within 30 seconds of paying for it and downloaded the full version. After downloading, it took less than one minute for this software to process and convert 500+ e-mails (attachments included) ... done!
this is the conversion tool i have ever seen as simple, easly and fast. nothing can be compared to this one. my 5.51 GB outlook pst file has been converted into mail.app format in 20 mins only where other tools did it in hours !
this deserves more than 5 stars.
The software is great and the owner responsive to questions. There's no help file that I can see, and some things need to be explained. But this is a workhorse of a product. Worth every penny once you figure out how to use it effectively. There is nothing else like it on the market.
The guy who complained bitterly about being sent a demo link missed the real link in his purchase email. That is supplied by the firm that handles the money for weirdkid.com.
Terrific software for handling different formats and let them flow into just one database.
It also solved all my Outlook issues (so I can left home my work laptop and use my macbook).
It is very fast and reliable (15 mins to convert a 2.5 gb .pst file with all the attachments: I lost days trying to convert it with O2M and I got a lot of errors anytime)
I purchased this product and didn't receive the email registration instructions and key. Emailed the author and have yet to hear back. Just be warned, the financial transaction happens quick but you don't get the product as quickly.
Since I posted this last, the developer worked with the company Emetrix to clear up the extra charge on my credit card. They issued the reg code a couple of days later. Just like anything else involving software, errors happen.
I also received my s/n immediately after purchasing, I remember, because it was quite a stressful day, and this product actually helped.
email recovery sucks, please backup.

Excellent application!
It just saved my emails from the bugged Apple Mail v 2.0 that destroyed my database without reason. It even converts your attachments to your new database, and it is rather fast as well.
And yes, it works perfectly with Mac OS X 10.4.1 (Tiger).
Features: It converts to and from almost any email app, and preserved the attachments and other stats in my case. 5 stars
Ease of Use: Just select your old email database, tell it to what it has to convert and go. More advanced features available for each format, but you do not have to look at them if you don't want to. 5 stars
Value: Invaluable, it saved my corrupt Mail v2.0 database and converted it to standard mbox files which Thunderbird can use. It is rather fast as well, about 50 times faster as Mail.app importing at least. 5 stars
Stability: No crashes or bugs encountered yet. Also 5 stars.

Converted an *.eml attachment to mbox, so I was able to view the content of it in Apple Mail. Good. But since this was the first time in those five years I'm online that I have encountered this problem, I will probably not have much more use for this tool. Therefore the shareware fee is a bit too high in my opinion. But for someone who needs to convert thousands of messages the price might be probably just right, considering how much work it took to convert my OE5 mail to Apple Mail two years ago.

Then why don't you copy the Outlook email database to the OS X machine and perform the conversion there? You don't need OE 5 to be on the OS X machine, just the email database for conversion...

This saved my life! Beautiful app, I used it to recover 5500 messages locked in a Mac OS X Mail.app mailbox, no other program would read the mbox, but this program did without a hitch! Buy this and rest easy!

Very useful -- especially if you're a "switcher". It would be nice if it could automatically determine email file types, but otherwise it works great. Oh, and read the manual! I thought I was stuck until I saw the troubleshooting section.

This great application solved for me a BIG problem of huge mailbox (over 1GB mbox) in Mail application which could not be read at all. To split the file to several folders and keep it on my Mac I needed to converted the 1GB file to individual RFC-822 messages format and from there I could convert back just the quantity of messages which faced no problem to the mail application to read it. Most recommended for such a problem.
Avoid like the plague both this product and the unpleasant fellow who sells it - . Yesterday I ordered and paid for the FULL WORKING VERSION. My money was very speedily and efficiently accepted and I got an e-mail directing me in detail precisely from where to download the software, how to install it, and containingg a Licence Key. I followed the given instructions to the letter, however, the download I received from the given link gave me only the Demo version and NOT the FULL WORKING VERSION. The instructions given in the e-mail as to how to REGISTER the product and get it working proved totally useless, as NOWHERE to be found was ANY "Register" button or option at all. Nowhere. I tried to re-download the software at least 3 times. - Same story each time. I sent at least 3 e-mails promptly to the Tech Support people over a period of some 12 hours, in increasily annoyed tones - all of which were totally ignored. This morning I get an email from one "Matt Hovey" telling me he did not like the tone of my e-mails, and simply refunding my payment !!!! At NO stage did I ever ask for a refund. All I EVER asked for was support in getting successfully downloaded to my computer that which I had ordered and paid for. What an absolutely DISGRACEFUL way in which to treat a paying customer. So I urge all of you to avoid this product and the thoroughly obnoxious guy who sells it. I will NOT be dealing with his company EVER again. A truly BAD experience. One learns the hard way, regrettably. Be WARNED.

Melbourne, Australia (where this customer is located) is roughly 12 hours timezone difference from USA Eastern time (where we are located). Customer's five emails were received Sunday morning, each including increasing levels of profanity and threatening language. We chose to refund the purchase and cut ties rather than endure further abuse.

Rubbish. If this company was remotely interested in its customers and LOOKING AFTER THEM properly, it would have IMMEDIATELY concentrated on ADDRESSING my problems, rather than simply refunding my money, when it DID eventually get around to reading my emails. I NEVER asked for a refund at ANY time. I simply wanted my purchase to WORK. I stand by every word I have written. There was NO legitimate excuse for this company to simply refund my money and tell me it was not going to deal with me any more. NONE. It had a DUTY to assist me. The language that I used in my emails was no worse than that likely to be used by ANY extremely annoyed and frustrated customer. And HOW is the customer supposed to know just WHEN "Customer Service" is or is not in duty ? I repeat - DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS UNSATISFACTORY COMANY, OR WITH ITS UNSATISFACTORY SOFTWARE, OR WITH ITS OBNOXIOUS, ILL-MANNERED STAFF. This company has ZERO understanding of good customer relations. ZERO.
This guy is on crack. I've been a user of emailchemy for years and everything just works. It's good software, and the company is good too.
So, I searched on his username "notafool" and I found out that he's a fool. He's got nothing good at all to say about anything.
One of his reviews starts out "The moron that developed this application." Another of his reviews says "Your absurd claims that the dice rolls are utterly random are the claims of a deceptive fool."
And look at his user name - "notafool". Isn't that just the kind of name that someone who has been called a fool through his whole life would pick?
Normally I couldn't care less if someone posts a bad review, but this one was weird. It was vicious. And I don't like unfairly negative reviews of anything.
PDRAP - What you wrote is utter nonsense. Did you actually READ what I said about those particular applications that I criticized ? I fully justified what I wrote. As for your "theory" as to the origin of my chosen nickname "notafool" you are both insulting and wrong. I chose that nickname at the time I was criticizing David Byrum's "Absolute Backgammon" program and asserting that its dice rolls cheat. HEAPS of other folk have - for years on end - asserted exactly the same. I was simply sending the message to David that his denials did NOT fool me. As for wanting a "review" from me of Emailchemy - Well I cannot give it a review. The rude folk at Tech Support of Emailchemy NEVER got around to getting my PAID FOR software working !! They simply couldn't be bothered. They preferred to simply refund my money and tell me to go away. FANTASTIC tech support eh ? I 'm glad that YOUR experience with the company and its software was wonderful. Mine wasn't. On the contrary. It was LOUSY. So I stand totally behind what I wrote. The company has NO IDEA about good customer relations and good support.
