The XNap project is about enhancing JNapster to include other file sharing protocols. Currently available plugins include OpenNap, Gnutella (cvs only) and OpenFT (through giFT). A Swing based user interface is provided as well as console support.
What's New
Version 3.0pre1: Most notably auto-completion has been implemented for most input fields and a shortcut editor has been added. In addition to the core release some of the plugins have been updated as well to fix minor bugs.
xnap is a great app BUT after 2.5 it doesn't work for me and for a lot of other people too.
what's going on???

There is a lot of new implementations taking place (connect to other than OpenNap networks, ...) so it will take some time before the bugs are worked out. That was the same with the earlier 2 versions.. My advice is stick with 2.5 and wait for a functional 3 to be released.

Version 3 should kick ass WHEN functional... Unfortunately, it isn't yet, so stick with the latest 2.5 version. To developers: forget about the cosmetic issues until the new version actually works.

This is a *preview*. I haven't tried it, but if you go to the developer's home and choose download you'll get 2.5 as the stable download...

sucks, not even close to the amount of downloads I typcially get from 2.5... stick with 2.5, don't bother.

Does not work for me either: searches do nothing. I would suggest that the "developers" spend less time on the Look & Feel and more time on getting searches and transfers to work reliably. This means you, Yves.

Thought I'd give this a spin and see if it could rival Poisoned or ACQlite. However, when I clicked on "Download Now" I got a "Not Found" page...wtf??!! So....if it's released, why isn't it available? Seriously, this should be pulled by MacUpdate until the developer can get his "stuff" together.

Version 2.5 worked fine but this version does not. I downloaded the plug-in and was able to connect to about 7 openNap servers, but when I tried to search for something it didn't do a thing. I tried many different search options but that didn't help.
So I went back to version 2.5
Hope the next version becomes usable and offers an interface which looks like 2.5 and has the text fields and buttons in the same places as in 2.5
This version is for crap...going back to previous version.....Too many problems to list.
Too confusing to set up.....Dunno if I'm connected or not....etc...etc....etc.
For those who venture in and discover the error messages & can it back to the Developer.
Do me a favor.....keep repeating the errors & send it off...maybe he'll get our fustration.
