Just add Thunderbird support and I'd buy it.

Nothing is for sale here :-)
Unfortunately Thunderbird doesn't support AppleScript and iPhoto uses AppleScript to communicate with the e-mail programs.

As a Microsoft Entourage user I have always been able to select it as the default email client for iPhoto to use when emailing photos, by selecting which email program to use in the preferences. For Entourage, this patch is completely unneccessary. However you might find it useful for other third-patry email clients (Eg: Thunderbird)

The author's comments a little confusing. He is saying that with iPhoto 4, APPLE has finally given user's the ability to choose Mail/Entourage/Eudora/AOL when sending photos.

The author then says this HIS PROGRAM will ADDITIONALLY send photos using the following email clients:

-Claris Emailer
-Mailsmith
-Outlook Express
-PowerMail
-QuickMail Pro

Too bad, netscape isn't supported. That is what my pops uses and he is too stubborn to try Mail, Eudora, or Entourage.....because netscape has mail integrated with the browser (UGH!)

Maybe Entourage support was added in teh new version of iPhoto. I dont use Entourage so I never had any reason to look before, but its available in the current version.

I am confused. I use Entourage and just set it as my email client in iPhoto's preference pane. I don't need to patch anything. The mail client on the "menu" at the bottom of iPhoto's screen just changes to the purple "e" of Entourage.

Perhaps I am missing something but I just select the photos I want to email and choose the purple "e" and I get a dialogue asking what size the photos should be before Entourage lauches and opens a new message with the photos as attchments.

As an Entourage user, I find the iPhoto Mailer Patcher a great help. Because I do not use the Apple mail program, I had to save any photos I wanted to send from iPhoto to another location, then attach them to an outgoing message. Now it is simply a click on the Entourage icon after selecting the photo(s) I wish to send and Entourage is opened automatically with attachments already inserted in a waiting message. Many thanks for simplifying things. Rick

i've always been emailing via entourage thanks to IPhotos preference tab which allows you to change the default program.

missS had trouble on 08 Jan 2007
I just got mac os X 10.4.8
When i send e mail with pics from iphoto
(through entourage), it is sending it as attach. I would like to send them as pics so i can see them while writing comments near the photos. I used to do that with picasa on pc- it was great! I do not have mac account and don't want to change my gmail account just because that reason. Does anyone know to solve this problem?
Thank you so much.
