Portraits & Prints is a solution for turning digital photographs and scanned images into high quality prints. Digital photographs can be quickly imported and arranged for output on your color printer. Besides printing, you can develop your layouts at your favorite photo center or email your prints to friends. Version 2.2.2:
- Got rid of all licensing functionality so that it's no longer necessary to register Portraits & Prints. It's free!
- Updated documentation.
- Fixed a Leopard related problem whereby the first page was printing twice and the last page not at all.
- Fixed a template thumbnail drawing problem that occurs under some versions of Snow Leopard.
- Fixed a bug whereby iPhotos added to a catalog that were not copied into the iPhoto library would not have their properties accessed by the program.
- Fixed an obscure, random startup crash.

With Portraits & Prints 2.0, you enhance photos, select a template, and then export or print the template. A template is a page layout where the photo's size and position are preset. All you do is select your photos and they are automatically added to the template. Portraits & Prints comes with many standard templates or you can download hundreds of free templates directly from the Template Manager.

This is a major upgrade IMHO. Easier to access templates & the template mgr just 2 of the new things I am going to get good use from.
The older Template maker as a separate program always seemed a tad awkward but this new one is integrated & readily available.
As a home user, I used Photoshop most of the time just to get the prints from my digital camera right. This simple program has about everything I need for that.
Great it that it saves only the changes made to images, without altering the original images.
I'm waiting for the template maker though, which I consider very necessary.
