This definitely is well thought out and implemented, with many options however, for my needs it is overkill. If you are looking for a basic ruler check out Free Ruler.

Hmm, I really have to say that I enjoy Xyle Scope. I may give this a look over, but for the cost (free) and features, I just don't see any compelling reason to try this app.

Sorry, made a mistake. I was thinking of xScope while I typed that up. xScope is actually $29.99 (so $10 more than this app), but I do appreciate the additional features of xScope vs this app. Notwithstanding, if you want to save $10 and this is sufficient, you can give it a shot. :)
