Is this app still alive? It has not been updated in quite some time. We are looking for a replacement for Extensis Portfolio, and need something that will stand the test of time and be updated regularly. This app looks promising, but needs to be able to handle very large libraries without being slow. We are willing to pay up to what Portfolio cost, if it can equal the feature set and speed.

Still alive and kicking. Working on the next version now. Many big and exciting developments. Stay tuned!

I bought the software since there are things I like and want to support the developer. There is one big things I don't like and that is having a single image file. I experience this with Outlook on a PC. My .pst file which handles all my mail is over 4.8 gigs and waiting for the day it corrupts. Please reconsider or give your users an option. One database file is too risky. I will use this for small projects and other low risk ventures.

Hi Deregil and thanks for your business!

You have understandable concerns. However, the Stock Keeper database "file" is actually a special type of folder called a "package". To the user, it's treated like a file, but to OS X it's a folder. ALL your individual files are inside as-is, and the database file itself remains quite small (typically 1MB or less). If you right-click the "Stock Keeper Library.stockkeeperd" package in your Pictures folder and select "Show package contents", you can examine what's inside. Don't change anything in there by hand, however, as it will obviously mess things up, but if everything goes kerflooie, all your media files are still accessible.

Stock Keeper is awesome. What were the choices, portfolio? some adobe discontinued product - Stock Keeper to the rescue! Oh, and the price - is peanuts compared to the big boys. With this version it just keeps getting better. To those that said it is buggy, I think the developer swiftly addressed all those issues early on. This is my go-to app.

I can't wait to see what features subsequent versions bring.

@Tryme: I didn't have a problem with the version I downloaded today.

I think Stock Keeper is a great app for finding FPOs and managing hi-res libraries. Tried demos of Media Pro and Portfolio along with this. Stock Keeper fits my workflow way better. The built-in browser is slick.

I'd like to see some workgroup collaboration stuff or client-server version, as well as better integration into Creative Suite, but it's a great start, and at $20 is way cheaper than Portfolio.

Before making such bold statements like 'Stop using buggy software..." the developer should eliminate the bugs in this software.

On opening I received 6 dialogue windows about not being able to locate a file - this was a fresh install.

Drop a file into the library and you get a drop down window to tag it, followed immediately by the spinning beach ball - which doesn't go away. Tried with several different files, same result.

Deleted. I don't have time to waste on rubbish like this.

Version 1.0.8, released today, fixes this bug, which only occurred for a few people. You will need to delete the corrupted data file and preferences first. The easiest way is to use the resetter script available from our website: http://www.mindersoftworks.com/appsupport/stockkeeper/Stock-Keeper-Data-Reset.zip
