AppLauncher - Just quick launch your apps - nothing more!

No - no replacement for Alfred.
No - no replacement for Quicksilver.
No - no replacement for LaunchBar at all.

It's just a very simple app for quick (very quick!) launching your applications - nothing more!

It's no calculator, no clipboard manager and of course no toaster and coffeemaker.

It fits my needs - thats all :-)
All I want is to launch Apps as fast as possible. Period.

And hopefully it will fit your needs, too…

I have been using Namely for a very long time now. It works exactly the same way and it learns your favourites and moves them closer to the top of the choice list. Also Free.

The secret of this app is the Hot-Key bind to an easy combination. I rarely use the dock now anymore. Only downside remaing is it doesn´t seem to find App running under Rosetta on 10.6.6.

This is faster than typing cmd-space (to start a Spotlight search), the first few letters of the app name (until Spotlight finds it), then pressing the return key?

Sadly, Spotlight is frequently a whole lot less then instant, especially if you have a lot of data (and especially if you have external storage attached).
