Please note that this is a major update for the upcoming Mac OS Lion and thus not yet localized. Some added features are Mac OS 10.7 only and some of the new features 10.7 has to offer are not available because there simply is no documentation provided by Apple yet and due to fundamental changes you have to register again.

A slim and easy to use program, that syncs excellent with Dropbox an Mobileme. A perfect companion to the iPad app. The developer is very responsive and takes care of its programs - a reply on bug reports or other inquiries often comes within several hours, sometimes immediately.

after some time of using this software:

1-just wish that the "Data" folder could be placed outside of the synchronized folder.

2-wish the Dropbox sync for iPad could be improved, now it is just too awkward to use.

Just submitted update for iPad App with improved Dropbox Support :-)

myTexts has its own 'Sandbox' inside your Dropbox, thus its Data folder of course is also located inside this Sandbox…

Dropbox sync much better now on iPad (if just that sound on completed sync could be switched off :).

It is a wonderful word processor with a great companion on the iPad. I am using the iTunes file share feature and it just works for me.

By the way: myTexts Pro just works. It's a great app for a great price.

A pretty nice text editor, I owned it and I still love it. Installed on MacBook and iPhone, both linked with Dropbox, easy to setup, fun to use.

Just ignore those comments and focus on your software.
I already own the old version and this one is a great improvement and Dropbox is working without any problems.

This app and its corresponding iPad app is messed up. It is complex, badly documented, and needlessly difficult to use. Synchronization with Dropbox should be straight forward, but isn't. Cannot save the Dropbox login credentials, and so need to log in every time (the app emits a failure message but doesn't offer to log in for you), and a new sync folder is created on Dropbox with each log in. This in turn messes up the related Mac desktop app which cannot figure out what folders to synchronize with and will not synchronize with docs changed on the iPad. There is a confusing array of options, preferences, preference panels, and so on. Lots of help files, but none of them seem to correspond to what the app is actually doing. Docs can be uploaded to Dropbox, but not downloaded. Have to shut down this app, then open the iPad Dropbox app (separate; free) to access files, then reopen this app. Of course by then the app has forgotten your Dropbox credentials and you are back in the circular loop trying to figure out what's going on. It's a great idea that looks to have been implemented by a developer who doesn't understand user interfaces and how to make standard iPad apps. Why Apple approved this one for release in the App Store before it was finished is another problem.

To be honest, I don't know how to reply to that :-)

I am sorry that it is to confusing for you, never had that feedback to one of my apps before and no other ever reported problems with the credentials - once linked you never have to type them again - of course the password is not saved (shown) in clear text…

And there is a reason why it does not 'sync' like a simple notes app. As long as everything is fine this may works, but the moment you have a sync conflict an error, a dropped connection or whatever and you need your latest article for example, you're screwed…

In one or two weeks with iOS 4.2 with multitasking (which the app is already capable of) using the iDisk or Dropbox app makes much more sense than a simple integration…

And please tell me how to make it much simpler under OS X than to once(!) directly at first start select the Dropbox or iDisk folder and your done?
