BEWARE - The Digimage Arts website states: "Athough not a Universal Binary, Color It 4.5 is fully compatible with Intel-based Macs and runs very quickly utilizing Apple's Rosetta technology". So, the information they provided MacUpdate is not correct! This application is solely written in PowerPC code and requires the Rosetta dynamic translator to run on Intel Macs.

from the software's MacUpdate page:

REQUIREMENTS

Mac OS X 10.0 or later. Color It 4.5 runs very quickly on Intel-based Macs using Apple's Rosetta technology, (emphasis added)
G3 or greater PowerPC chip (G3, G4 or G5) or a Mac with an Intel chip,
a mere 6 megabytes of RAM,
a hard disk with at least 20 megabytes free.

So while it is not UniBin, it is capable of PPC and Intel usage.

This is actually a pretty good programme. But it is NOT new. I have had a copy of Color-It 4.5 since 2006!

What's that ? The old-school remix ? ? Like TypeStyler etc ?! I mean look at Pixelmator... do you think 2010 wants OS8-9 interfaces ?

I remember buying this back in the System 7.5 days. I also remember getting it as a freebie on one of the MacFormat monthly CD's. It did an okay job but it seems incredibly dated and still not universal binary. Thanks for the memories but there are way too many free alternatives to this.

I really dislike the idea of no demo. Presumably, I can buy it, and if I don't like it, they'll refund me. How do I know? Or how do I know that won't be a hassle that stretches out for months? In this economy, I don't have 50 bucks to "hope for the best." Let me try this thing out and then decide to buy. If you're not willing to demo, you have something to hide.

Wow, this UI reminds me Mac OS 9 from 10 years ago. This may be a very functional app, but with that interface, I don't know if I even want to try it. I guess I am really spoiled now-a-days.
