@Dev: Please consider a GUI rework. Look at other modern GUI. For example, do not use grey (metal look) windows because those are deprecated a long time ago.

Perhaps I'm just too much of a luddite to be able to figure out a simple $10 app!
The company website http://www.traxxsoftware.com has some screencasts that show you how to do a simple setup. It is available under the Help section of the website.

Opened - No Problem
Added basic data for one vehicle - told program to save - Problem
Program showed error - and quit - report sent to apple
Restarted program - same scenario - would not save any data and quit
Tried 3 times - trashed program
I'm running 10.6.4 with all upgrades and a ton of ram - never had this type of problem with any other program.

I don't find the mileage report useful FOR ME. But years ago I would have liked it since I tracked every tankful back then.
I've have issues where the software is NOT trapping errors, such as if I enter something other than a year in the year field. The program crashes.
I found it not possible trying to enter past services performed without reading the how-to guide; after reading it, it now it is easy.
I will probably pay for this program near the end of my evaluation period. It performs the basic functions I am after.
I used to use Car Companion (very similar functionality) but it has not been updated to the latest Mac OS.

Version 1.0 is a very old version of the program and the database will not upgrade properly from that version. I had not realized that there were any users still running a version older than 1.4. I'll try to put in a fix for this in the next version that will allow a conversion from databases older than version 1.4. Sorry for any inconvenience.
