I don't like to leave the lock-on-sleep setting switched on on my Macs because I find it inconvenient but sometimes I do need to lock it when I know I'll be away from my screen for a while. This widget lets me do so quickly without needing to have fast user switching activated. This is an advantage on my MacBook Air's smaller screen.
