Great app to log in one place all sporting activities! Good analysis of the workouts. Maybe some statistic could be added. In any case great!

Back to 4 stars, the latest version has genuine improvements, maps have been corrected for example, the price has dropped to a realistic level, and the forum is available again (though little used, likely due in part to the developers well known aversion to criticism). Syncing with the iOS version works well now, but there are still some annoying little bugs/inconsistencies, eg with the full screen map, equipment counts, the Di2 gear chart, some imports and exports (though I accept the Garmin bugs are usually Garmin generated). There are better training analysis tools for the Mac now, but this app is a decent training log for those wanting offline access to their data.

Something has happened to rubiTrack. Mapquest not supported anymore, forum closed, FaceBook page gone, Twitter account silent, email not available - seems it might be closing down.

Have had to downgrade my rating of this app since the latest 'upgrade'. Syncing with the latest iOS app is now so poor as to be useless, there are display problems in addition to those already fixed with El Capitan (eg the full screen map doesn't work properly unless a map pane is opened first), weather data doesn't always update properly from the list view, and long-standing bugs with the equipment feature remain, as do several import, export, and cloud syncing issues. And users the developer doesn't like get kicked off the support forum, so those most likely to complain get ignored. Very disappointing.

I’m sorry, but will people PLEASE STOP GIVING APPS POOR RATINGS BECAUSE OF THEIR PRICE! Rating apps poorly based on their price does no one who visits Macupdate.com any favours. It makes it near impossible to find good apps on this site. Truth is, I will likely never buy this application, based the price alone, but I will also not give a half-star rating because of its cost. If it’s the best, it should have a rating that reflects that—if it’s not, then it shouldn’t. If it’s an awesome app but you don’t like the price, don’t penalize the developer and the Macupdate.com community who just want quality reviews. Just leave a comment, and move along. </rant>

This is, by far, the best exercise-GPS-software for OS X. I've used it daily for 5 or more years, and the stability, functionality, and UI is absolutely great. It's not the cheapest software out there, but the upgrade prices are reasonable (around $40 every 3 years), and given the size of the market for software like this, and the fact that I'd prefer the developer make enough money to be able to CONTINUE working as a developer, it is well worth it to me. Really, at something like $15/year it is an absolute bargain to me. I use Strava for workouts online, and the latest version integrates perfectly to Strava. I now just upload my GPS workouts to Strava, and pull it to rubiTrack from there, rather than having to import from my GPS twice.

For myself as a mac user Rubitrack is the only solution I have found that lets me maintain my activity history of 2800+ tracks, it provides the tools I need to review, organise and track a very wide range of sports and activities and the equipment associated with each. I like my gadgets and now wouldn't go anywhere without a GPS watch, the process of logging and organising my data and reviewing my progress/ improvements is a 'hobby' in itself which I very much enjoy- for me knowing that I've ridden my road bike exactly 4463.57km or I've used my 12m kite for 95hours and 4 minutes for instance is very valuable and I use rubitracks as the sole repository for this data. The latest version of rubitracks had added a very large number of features and improvements, which I would strongly advise trying in a trial, the Places feature is particularly interesting as it can show all ones activities across a global map, this is not only 'nice' to see where you've been but can help to find long lost walks etc that can be hard to find otherwise. As others have said everyone has their budget and concepts of what something is 'worth'. In the scheme of cost of the Mac required to run the program on, the GPS device (or iPhone etc) required to record the data and the, shoes, bikes, boats and boards used whilst recording the data the cost of this software is well worth it for the value it adds to the enjoyment of all of the above. I think it is all too easy to forget that complex and feature rich programs such as RubiTrack must take a huge number of hours to write and maintain and that the number of end users has a large impact on the price per seat. The developer feedback on the forums is excellent and it is clear to see where suggestions/ ideas of users have made it into minor and major updates. I look forward to future updates do hope that others try this software and consider what value it could add to their training etc.

This review will ignore all functionality because it's in there and most people know. I fully agree with others mentioned the price. Way too high. I can't understand why Markus & co don't listen to all comments and adjust the price.

I would like to write this comment directly to Markus and I have tried on Facebook but it was deleted immediately. I can't write in the forum because it's a closed forum. Then I have to do it here and rate it the way I do. When I also read in the forum that Markus asks people to go here and write "good" comments and rate it high it's too much for me.

No rubiTrack for me.

This review will more or less ignore the price - everyone can make up their own mind as to whether they are willing to pay it, same as for all software. And first off, though some may find websites satisfactory to hold all their data they are not practical for me because I have all my training data from 1994 (including gps data from 2006, hr from 2010, power and cadence from 2012) which I want kept safe and readily available offline. I do use Strava and GC, but not to hold all this data.

So for top class offline training logs, in my opinion that leaves WKO, SportTracks, and Golden Cheetah on the PC, or Golden Cheetah and rubiTrack for the Mac. They are all very good, and I would rate all at 4 stars in that they safely and securely hold my data and give me adequate to outstanding training analysis, but all have at least one strength over the others so none can get 5 stars for being totally comprehensive. For example, I don't like the WKO interface (or the complexity of TrainingPeaks) and while Golden Cheetah is much better than rubiTrack for training analysis with power meters, it lacks some features I want or need (equipment log, weather data, for example). I've used SportTracks for about 10 years, but prefer a Mac to a PC, and with ease transferred all my data via fitlogs to rubiTrack about a year ago. I've found rubiTrack as good as SportTracks, and in some ways better - for example the interface and user customisation, both of which are even further enhanced in the latest release. SportTracks is not much different in price from rubiTrack, and in addition some of its best features require plugins at an additional charge. Whether it's better value than rubiTrack is debatable but that's for individual users to fathom. Personally I won't presume to make that decision for them through a low rating whatever adverse feedback that might bring me.

Ridiculous price for this peace of software. I have used RT3 since it came out and I'm very happy with it. But I will never upgrade to RT4 due to the price.

Given what's been said here, I suspect I'll receive some reaction by giving this 4.5 stars; however, I am rating the application itself, not the pricing. Value and whether it's "worth it" is in the eyes of each individual. Anyone can express their view but no one can make that judgement for another person. Tell me what an application does and how completely, easily & elegantly it does it compared to the alternatives and I'll make my own judgement on price/value. For the record: - I am an avid cyclist who does some formal training and logs 5k-6k miles per year. - I was an active Ascent user until development was halted by its developer - I switched to RubiTrack 3 as the best available Mac alternative in my view and upgraded to RubiTrack 4 at the upgrade pricing, which is ~½ the listed price. - I have no connection to the developer other than a bit of communication about features/bugs In my view, TrainingPeaks & WKO+ are the benchmark website and app for training analytics. A premium subscription to the TrainingPeaks site is $120/year and WKO+ (which is not available as a native Mac app) is $130 or $65 to upgrade. RubiTrack isn't on par with WKO+ from an analytics standpoint - yet, but version 4 is a significant upgrade. It is getting closer, is a very similar cost, and has some worthwhile logging, searching and other functions TP & WKO+ don't. It does 95% of what I want and the developer is actively working to improve the app. Hence 4.5 stars. I'm happy I upgraded.

It 'nice and did pretty well, but the price is really unjustified for the program. From version 3 to 4 the program doesn't change much, but price has become almost three times: never seen such a thing with other program.

As a rubiTrack 3 user I hesitated to upgrade to rubiTrack 4 Pro. I too thought and think that the price is hefty. It is a bit in the league of productivity soffware. Recently I bought Fantastical 2 and BusyContacts 1, both with a rebate as (cross) upgrade. As I use above software as productivity tools I don’t mind spending money on them. Especially if you have great support….which is offered for all three in an excellent way. As I said earlier, I believe the price for rubiTrack 4 Pro is high, (especially as I was among the ones who bought the rubiTrack iOS app for about € 25,00, which is now free with IAP) but given the benefits and differences compared to rT 3 I took the plunge and bought the upgrade for about € 45,00, which I don’t regret. IMHO an developer also must earn money to live and at the end we all should decide if we want to pay the price asked. Today it almost seems there is too much focus on pricing and not about the software itself. We all might be too much spoiled by free software in both MAS and iTunes store. It is an interesting discussion in where I hope both parties participate. When rubiTrack 5 arrives I might hesitate again and decide on purchasing after comparing pros and cons…

this pricing policy seems quite ridiculous to me - but obvioulsy some people don't have a problem to put another 100€ on top of what they paid so far for the previous versions and even think this fully ok. A little bit suspicious all this cheering comments - in particular where censorship rules in the RT forum. Yesterday evening I uttered my concerns about the pricing as well as a few others. This morning all the critical comments were gone. Shows to me that somebody only has $€£ signs in the eyes.
Having looked at the trail version my impression is that the new version is average. Not worth tripping the price. Taking all into account: 1 star
