HUDTunes is a compact and simple iTunes controller. It has play/pause, fast forward/next track, rewind/ back track, and volume control. The title,artist or album (user preference) of the current track is displayed in the window title.

i will work on the hotkey thing

as for staying on top, as far as I know HUD style windows will always stay on top. I'm not sure if there is a work around for this but I will most definitely investigate it. Thank you for your comments!

it is nice, but I would very much like it if it didn't have to stay on top.
also, i would like it more if i could have it hide, and pop it up with a hotkey.

Hi, thanks for the review, were trying to keep this as minimal as possible, I am currently adding a preference window that allows you to choose what you want as the title bar, the title, artist, album or default (just the app name)
there is also an option to hide the dock icon, keep the window on top of all others
and quit iTunes when this program quits.

As far as the issue with iTunes quitting first, this has already been fixed and everything will work dandy in the next release.

Cool, looks good here. The only other thing for the prefs would be to turn off the menubar item. And the menubar item looks like it has too much "space" around it when sitting next to other menubar items.

Thanks, in the next release there will be the option to turn off the menubar icon as requested :)

As for the icon having to much space, i'll talk to my gfx designer about it :)

Quitting iTunes while this is running results in an AppleScript error (about iTunes not running) that requires you to force quit HUDTunes.

Otherwise, pretty cool.

Maybe clicking title bar swaps artist/title? And a star rating selector would be excellent.
