Sports Fan Widget helps you keep an eye on your favorite sports teams by providing all the information you need in one small, user-friendly widget. Show the current scoreboard, full results from previous days, the upcoming schedule (game times are displayed in your local time), or current division and standings. The widget supports Baseball (MLB and minor leagues down to Class A), Basketball (NBA, WNBA and Men's NCAA College), Football (NFL and NCAA College), and Hockey (NHL).

You can open multiple instances

College football screen just spins & does not load anything. All the other sports are not effected. This has been happening for the last 2 versions.

Well, now it seems to be working after deleting it manually, then reinstall & reboot.

Does not look good under Lion.
Very hard to read scores, type running off edges.
Very good app previously but seems to not work well under Lion.

Most likely you are experiencing caching issues in the Dashboard - make sure that you have the latest version (as shown on the back of the widget), select the widget, and then type -R to reload it.

Great widget. I use it with Amnesty Singles to run it on my desktop in Lion, and it works great. I love everything about it. Thank you thank you to the developer.

If you want to know sports scores quickly, this is the way to go!

I use SportsFan daily to track all my sport teams, but the newest version of Webkit affects the widget (From the dev's site:)

NOTE: due to a bug in CSS rendering (selection of alternate style sheets) in WebKit included in Safari 5.0.6 & 5.1, the widget currently does not display properly when the latest version of Safari is installed (e.g., under MacOS X 10.7 "Lion"). This should resolve itself once Apple fixes this bug - registered developers please duplicate rdar://problem/9567255 (Safari 5.1: switching alternate stylesheets doesn't work)

It's just OK. It does not display the ranking of a team (college hoops for ex.) and it's not very easy to switch between sports. A tabbed approach might be good. It's also not very easy to read in general. I stuck with the basic sports widget.

hovering over the little icon in the bottom- lefthand corner to switch sports teams is not easy enough? and you do know you can drag multiples of this widget out of the widgets bar at the bottom, right? did you check out all the basketball teams in the pull-down menu? there is a Standings on the right and Scoreboard on the left. please explore this widget indepth before writing a negative review of it. i’m not into basketball — but it has women’s basketball and a list of what seems to be many many college basketball teams. there’s also a “use larger size” checkbox. how long did you use and explore all the features of this widget before you wrote your review?

tabs would be cool. but man you just dissed one of the best widgets ever made.

I installed it and made my team the Denver Broncos. Nothing except a light blue screen and 4 large icons of the major sports appears.

Today, Aug 12th, the scores etc appear. Guess I had to wait for the day after the first day of preseason.

For some reason when i'm using the NBA scoreboard, and i advance past the current day, it always says no games are scheduled. This has been happening for a long while and i'm hoping i can figure out what's causing it or it will get fixed. I really enjoy this app for its simplicity and seeing the upcoming schedule to find out what time and who my team plays later on this week is one of its best and most simple features, yet its not working anymore. I've tried re-installing/ re-downloading it and still doesn't work. Any suggestions?
