Parent Folder allows you to have a "one folder up" button in the Finder just like the one in Windows Explorer. Parent Folder is a wrapper around an AppleScript with an icon you can drag into your Finder window's toolbar.
Good but should be included in the drop down save mini window in Safari or Firefox. By the way, I never new about ctr_up arrow to go up one folder before, thanks for that tip Zangief!
But why? Apple has already included an expanded version of this tool as an option available in every finder window. If you choose "Customize Toolbar" in the Finder (CTRL-Click on the Toolbar) and add the Button with 4 offset lines, It will show the entire path when clicked and you can choose whatever folder you want in the list to open, including the parent folder.
I was kind of thinking the same thing. And in the screen shot you see that path button right next to this "parent folder" button. Sort of missing the point of having too separate buttons also.
