Version 1.2.1:
- Added the ability to change the settings for each composition. this big change means you can set the chromakey color in bluescreen easily or the size of vortex or the picture in slideshow or the background movie in bluescreen all without having to use quartz composer.
- Separated preferences into a separate file.
- Added many new compositions. here are a few.
- Cubic Photos Slideshow which shows a folder of photos or uses spotlight to find images by keyword on the sides of a cube.
- Kero in Torus which shows the possibilities to use ChatFX for network type games.
- Me and My Desktop is a new take on mixing your video and the desktop.
- Bubbles - which does bubble in your video.
- Swarming Jivas - which puts up a swarm of your little avatar.

To register ChatFX please go to the Help menu and choose "Enter Registration Details" then copy and paste your info into the registration dialog exactly as it appears below:
Full Name: My Full Name
Email: My email
Registration Key: BLANK.
So, I emailed the Julian Miller, the developer back a few hours ago and still have heard nothing.
Remind me next time to spend the 20 bucks on a new toy for my hamster!!

In my opinion, the price is too high once it crosses the $10 point. I would buy it at $10, probably, and definitely at $5. I have a feeling sales would go way up at lower price points...
If the developer doesn't drop the price, I'll keep an eye out for a deal on Maczot.com, but for now, if I want to show my iChat friends a cool effect for a minute, I don't mind a text crawl reminder to register, as I doubt I would have it active more than a minute or so. Personally, this program is a fun novelty to me, and not of as much practical use as the similarly priced (but differently functioning) ShowMacster.
I hope the developer will consider a price drop, though.
