LiquidCD is for burning CDs and DVDs. It allows you to burn personal hybrid discs (i.e., showing files on PC/Mac only), add a custom icon to the disc and burn cue/bin files.
What's New
Version 2.08:
Added basic support for mdf/mds, daa, gbi and b6i/b6t files.
The following formats may also work (experimental): c2d and cif
By far the easiest software for burn VIDEO_TS files, plus it opens DVD Player so you can view the content before you burn it witch is helpful when dealing with concert bootlegs. My only complaint actually more of a wish for a future release would be the option to burn multiple VIDEO_TS files to a single DVD. Toast has this feature but i get warnings saying the file I'm trying to burn is a CSS disc when there bootlegs of live concerts filmed by audience members ?
The exact same file burns with no problem with LiquidCD ! So if you want a small powerful no BS burner give it a try.
two more suggestions would be to set default gap for audio cds in preferences (right now it takes some left/right clicks to apply a 0 sec gap for all tracks) and to accept folder dragging to the audio cd tab (it works in the data cd tab).
i had trouble burning flac in the past because i had to install a flac codec which crashed liquidcd. thanks licgoncalves for the tip, it seems flac support is now built-in.
liquidcd is also my fave burner, there was a close struggle with burn from kiwisofwtare at one point but liquidcd won.
my only 2 suggestions are to be able to customize the toolbar (pretty standard in osx) and to show the track list names when dragging a cue file to the 'others' pane (currently only shows up the number of tracks).
What would you like to see in the toolbar ? For the cue file, you can have some extra information by holding the Alt key while hitting the Burn button (not the one in the toolbar, the one in the window where you can select the burner).
the toolbar items are fine, i just like to hide labels, put separators, flexible spaces or remove items i seldom need. i just thought the framework for cocoa toolbars were the same for every app.
i don't have a blank cd right now to test it (the burn button is greyed out in the window you mention) but do you mean i can get extra information only after starting burning? because i'd like to get it before.
The toolbar cannot be edited because I've blocked that on purpose. I don't see the point of removing the Data or Burn icon, but I understand that maybe you would like small icons or just the labels.
That's correct, you need a blank CD to get the extra info. But you can cancel the burn afterwards.
I like LiquidCD so much that I actually contributed money for this free software. A responsive designer has helped make for a stable, easy-to-use application that will help you to burn simple CDs and DVDs. Of course, if you need more customization, there's always a heavy-duty application like Toast - but most of the time, LiquidCD does the job admirably and quickly.
I really like this program - works great for burning CDs from the Apple Lossless files I store my masters in. Waveburner needs to convert them back to AIFFs before burning. And if the pieces are already mastered, you don't need all the features waveburner has - just the ability to set track pauses individually, which LiquidCD does well.
But it seems that when I drag in an iTunes playlist from the Media Browser, the order is not maintained and I must re-order the tracks if they are from different albums. Works OK if I drag in tracks in groups that only contain songs from one "album" in iTunes. Otherwise it appears to order them close to alphabetically by album, but not quite.
Oh - also when I save an audio CD as a LiquidCD Document, quit LiquidCD and reopen the file, anything that was set to 0 sec pause is reset to 2 seconds. So close, yet so far!
Can you choose to to burn the main feature using this program? i don't need to burn the entire dvd. Toast gives an option of the entire dvd or main feature. Thanks in advance
I have a question. the program was working fine initially. Now when I copy a disc. It says the image is burned. I inset a blank cd hit burn and the blank cd ejects. I get messsage- problem burning image. I removed the program and downloaded it again fresh and still same probelm

If you need a simple but good burning tool and it has to be free, don't look any further.
