I can tell from the screenshot that this was made in REALBasic. :/

And that instantly means junk... Why can't people just use Xcode?

Now, whilst this isn;t the most exotic browser I have used, infact far from it, i don't see the need in being offensive and rude to whoever developed it. It clearly took a lot of work, and considering i am posting from within the browser now, i don't see as it's that bad. I find it to be fairly fast, not safari or icab fast, but still better than IE on a G3 running panther.

There is a lot to be done to this browser before it becomes a GOOD browser, but until then I don't think its very necessary to tear chunks out of the developers. Constrructive criticism wouldn't go amiss.

Personally, i would like to see the developer/s go all the way with this, and i hope that he doesn't take any harsh comments to heart in the meantime.

sorry guys. Don't want to be nasty, but you managed to make a browser slower than Explorer.
What would anyone want that Safari does not have?
I think Apple made the best browser in the world and all the rest is a waste of time.

cheers

Actually, safari is becoming increasingly unstable, and slow. On a powerbook G4 (1.5GHZ), I finally got tired of safari being a ram hog, getting slow if you leave it open more than an hour, and crashing. I switched to an optimised firefox build. Fastest thing i have ever used, that is MUCH more expandable.. At least, it don't give me the spinning ball every 10 mins...

Come on, this application (and its website) is one of the most crappiest things have seen in a long time, obviously made by some untalented teenagers.
They do nothing but make people waste their time in downloading a web browser which actually a code-less implementation of the webkit.
Don't waste your time unless you want to have a good laugh.

"Come on, this application (and its website) is one of the most crappiest things have seen in a long time"

You should at least learn rudimentary grammar before accusing others of being "untalented teenagers".

Oh, good grief. Why do people start griping about everyone else's grammar when it's clear not everyone who uses the Internet is _not_ from the United States and doesn't have English as their native language?

Plus this was obviously a missing word, not really a grammar mistake.

Although it is a functional web browser, I have to agree. Using REALBasic, is, well, really basic (not to mention kind of tacky). Apple created VERY good development tools, so why not use them? BTW -- I ran a demo of REALBasic on my G3, and it took forever to launch. Plus I couldn't make any sense of the interface, so I guess I can give the developer one thing... He's very brave to use such an awful program. That program doesn't have any GUI, and it doesn't write either Carbon or Cocoa. All it's data is stored in a weird little ".rsrc" file...

Come to think of it, iTunes is partially made up of an .rsrc file, too. I wonder how Apple pulled that off... :^)

It does seem to me that a huge amount of effort are being invested in a proliferation of browsers, without their various authors and supporters asking why they are necessary. I could think of some applications the Mac community needs a whole lot more to fill empty ecological niches (for example an inexpensive and easily-learned WYSIWYG page authoring app., which we haven't had since the demise of Claris Home Page, and likewise an inexpensive and easily-learned photo retouching app.) I wouldn't even waste my time downloading and testing a new browser unless it had something significantly innovative feature to offer.

With the greatest of respect this is the most horrid thing I have seen in a long time.

Its a shame because I heard there was something called the 'tinternet' and that you needed a browser and I have been waiting for ages for a browser to come out for Mac.

Who'd have thought, back in the days of OS 9 and earlier, up into the early days of OS X, we'd ever have to put up with asinine comments such as yours?

At least the author is making an effort (in addition to the fact he's clearly stated this is a BETA), his early code is clean and fast, and he's trying to make a positive contribution.

You, on the other hand, are clearly showing, despite our common collective assumption that most Mac users are sophisticated, and above such comments, why many in the Windows world do not like Mac users.

One more thing: Perhaps you'd like to offer some of your time in a productive fashion by making some nice OS X-worthy icons for the browser?
