Even though I really appreciate the time the devs put in making such usefull apps, I must admit that having it runing natively by SL is great.
Thanks again for the tip and thanks to the devs to make this function available to OS anterior to 10.6
The problem is fixed on version 1.7.
But SoundMenu works great on my intel based Mac under 10.5.6... So I don't think you have a problem with soundmenu itself...

I looked at your forum and tried the fix, this does not work, console just says error loading menu extra.

- Download new Snow Leopard version of Menucracker : http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15658/menucracker
- Put the menucracker in your Home Folder under ~/Library/Bundles/ (replace old menucracker.menu)
- Log out and log in or "killall SystemUIServer"
- Double click on menucracker.menu
- Double click on SoundMenu
