I'm extremely happy with this software, especially now that leopard is out, because Leopard's build in recorder notifies both sides of the recording. I usually do not want this.
Conference recorder allows me to be discreet in my recordings. 5 stars for this
I would hope this has some notification of all parties that the conversation is being recorded. Otherwise, the parties have no way of knowing they are being recorded and given the opportunity to refuse.
It's illegal not to notify people on the phone of that activity, why would/should this be any different?
if one party to a conversation is aware of the recording, it is not illegal to record the conversation. only have problems when none of the parties are aware of the recording.
You're correct, here in Texas, one party is the rule. interesting, i was trying to record a call a couple of days ago using a standard suction cup/digital recorder set up. it worked perfectly in tests with several phone calls but the one i really needed came out blank! somebody's got some cool technology!
I'm also not clear how this "turns iChat into shareware"... it's an app of its own, and the programmers spent time and energy on it, yes? If you don't want to use CR, uninstall it and iChat stays just as free as it always was....
I love the inobtrusive interface, and the app does exactly what it claims to. Doesn't get much better than that! The only feature I've missed so far is the ability to stop and restart recording within an individual chat--maybe a more advanced function than the programmers were anticipating....

Although many complain about the interface, and I myself have to admit it is not slick, this app does the job superior to any other app like it. The framerate is smooth, and it doesn't require a G5 to get nice video.
Great app. I hope to see development continue.

God-awful interface. What the heck was the author thinking when he used that? Also turns iChat into shareware which is simply unacceptable. This software needs a total overhaul. At least there's an uninstall option right there ready for you to click it.
I am testing this product. Conference Recorder does not work with a Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac webcam and OS X Leopard 10.5.6. With Conference Recorder installed, either iChat can't connect to the webcam despite it being listed in the preferences or it affects the webcam negatively by it seeming to no longer be able to adjust exposure according to lighting or to autofocus.

Any chance this is built in?
