TMSNC is a textbased (console) MSN client written in C. TMSNC should work on most Unix (Linux, BSD, MacOS) compatible operating systems. The goal of this project is to create a client like MSN Messenger (with sound, webcam and file transfer support), but without any graphical features.
TMSNC is an opensource project which is released under the IR Public Domain License which basically is a modification of the BSD license.
What's New
Version 0.3.1:
Created OSX package so there is no need for compiling the source yourself.
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.3.5 or later (tested), but should also run on Mac OS X 10.0 or later.
great idea and well implemented. As far as i can see the only bad feedback has been from the odd "n00b" or two, and i've got nothing bad to say about it. Well done!

Great! Now I can chat while connected thru mobile, with minimum costs!
For one thing, the ability to run it remotely from an ssh session.
For example, if your employer blocks MSN traffic, you can ssh to your Mac at home, and use this "Text-based MSN" on the Mac.

its installed in /usr/local/bin which is a folder not visible to finder.
You run the program by typing 'tmsnc' in the terminal.

Actually there's a manpage installed in $PREFIX/man/man1/tmsnc.1, if this is not in the default man path you will need to move it.

Very cool program. It is simple to use and it has all the features needed for chatting with my MSN contacts although some stuff could be improved.. It seems a bit unstable but overall it is good.

Useless. Refuses to authenticate.
I double and triple checked the username and password, but it still fails authentication. Connecting with another IM client using the same username and password works, so it has to be this software that is at fault.

Make sure you are putting your user name along with the domain.
User user@hotmail.com or msn.com
I understand the past tense, but the phrase still shows there wasn't enough research. I'd understand that maybe the developers didn't like the existing ones, but not that they didn't know about them. CenterICQ alone has several years in its back to be so easily dismissed.

I know 2 others clients, and they support many IM protocols: centericq and bitlbee.
