This great freeware (!) enables me, for example, to edit all my PDF's Document Properties which can be seen when you open a PDF in AdobeReader7 and press Apple_D ...

Please keep developing!

I have not tried this program, but I tried ResFool, which cost only $20 and worked just fine. It also had absolutely marvelous support from the developer. I wrote him with some questions about some technical matters I didn't know how to handle. He replied promptly and even went out of his way to find me some additional resources I needed. I couldn't ask for much more than that.

It doesn't need to be photoshop, but the more standard resources that have editors beyond just a template, the better.

I agree with folks that if it becomes a ResEdit X, it would be great!

This app has a long way to go before you start to compare it to ResEdit. It won't play sounds...it won't show bitmaps.... It is merely a hex editor.

I just coded a "snd " player and uploaded the updated source code. In next build player will be included.

Bitmaps are more complicated to display. I prefer working on TMPL part of the app.

Notice its says min. req. OS X 10.2.4. If you compile the source on 10.2.3 will this program work? IOW, what was the jump in code from 2.3 to 2.4 that makes such a difference?

If I remember correct there are problems regarding toolbars on those older Jaguar versions. They may don't show up.

OK. Thanks for that. I'll probably d/l it and just try it on 10.2.3 and see what happens, i.e., whether it works at all, works but with the missing TBs., etc.

why not use 10.2.4??

That's a good question. I wouldn't run Jaguar less than 10.2.6... and there's really no point going with less than 10.2.8.

I have yet to try this app. But let me say to the dev that I have been waiting for a LONG time for a ResEdit for OS X (one that opens bundles as well as resource forks). If this app blossoms into a fully featured ResEdit X then kudos.

It looks great so far! The only comment I have is that it seems slow when opening a resource type with lots of resources in it... like maybe you're reading the entire resource. I think it would be better to read just the ID#, name, size, etc., that you display in the table view, and then load the actual resource when the user double clicks that one.

Great job, please keep it up. I missed ResEdit when I made the switch to OSX. Resourcer is good too, but the interface SUXXXXXXSSSSSS. Maybe ResFork can pick up where ResEdit dropped off.

An excellent start to a program that has been too long in coming! Keep up the good work.

Why are all the documents in PDF? They all seem to just contain plain text, no images, could be .rtf or even .txt just as easily.

What is wrong with PDF?

It is in PDF because I create the documentation files in AppleWorks and exporting to plain text sets a creator, which can cause trouble if no application with that creator is installed.
