TriTag helps you to get a clear MP3 collection by either creating a new filename out of the ID3Tag or filling the metatags using the information found in the filename using a user defined pattern - easy due to a pattern builder.
The first mode also allows to create a unique directory structure (artist/album/) similar to the one generated by iTunes "Consolidate library".
Search the FreeDB database if neither the filename nor the tag contains correct information.

What's New

Worked fine for the task in Mavericks 10.9.3. Great simple software with pattern builder and preview at that.

Not bad, saved me some time entering titles. Only two drawbacks: it deletes artwork, and it deletes the total track number. The latter is easy to fix, the former may not always be.

Please! Can you add an option for adding album art? second add the tag "album artist" it's useful for multiple artist albums (Various Artists), keep up the good work :)!!!

This app was perfect! amazing application. I had 500mp3s and all the ID3 tags were wrong. I opened them all in this app and it let me select what part of the song i wanted to use for the Name and artist, track name, then apply the same pattern to all my song! BRILLIANT~!!! saved me HRS!

Had a filename:

When i fist imported them into itunes all the tags were all over the place, had the name as the file name, no artists nohting... by the time this app had a play

Name: Born Slippy
Artist: Underworld
Track Number: 001

This seriously needs to be updated or open sourced. This problem works well, and doesn't give me headaches to look at (or use) like some other tag editors
