iProfile is the first application to provide the option of having a user profile while using Apple's iChat. (Macintosh client for the AOL Instant Messenger service, AIM)
Providing a simple interface, customizable content through the use of HTML, and single-click, as well as automated, publishing, iProfile is a simple, yet effective solution to anyone's profile desires.
What's New
Version 1.2: You can now quit iProfile after publishing and your profile stays with your screen name until you sign off of iChat.
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.2 or later, Java 1.4.1 or later.

This app doesn't seem to work with iChat 3 (with Tiger). Sure iChat 3 has its own profile support, but you can't use HTML, so its pretty much useless. I thought this program would save me, but nope. Unfortunately Tiger makes the official AIM client run like ass.

This app is simply great. I had longed to have an Aol profile, but wanted to keep using iChat. iProfile lets you do this in a simple way, and after you set it up you don't have to worry about. The ability of it to automatically launch and load your profile when you launch iChat is a great feature. This program is nothing to shout about, but if you want an AIM profile without using AIM, it's simply the best way to go that I can see. It just works.

Hmm, something I overlooked before. Just a minor warning if you're worried about memory/hard drive space. The iProfile daemon uses about 11mb real memory and 300mb virtual memory at all times (at least if you have "Auto publish on iChat launch" turned on.)
nice program, although it would be nice if it could update the profile with ichat agent, so you dont have to load the actual ichat.app to trigger iprofile.

This is a very nice app. I do wish that I could have my away message up while having a profile posted. All in all, though, this is a great application and it does what I wanted Apple to do for iChat AV (of course they didn't).

Finally, iChat has the one major feature that it lacked! The program does as is explained; however, the download requires more documentation. It is a straight-forward, simple application, but the ReadMe ought to include information such as the fact that when iProfile is actively running (engaged on the Dock), you will not be able to have an away message up. For the program to be effective, you must give iProfile the information it requests, Save / Publish, and then close the program altogether.
This would have saved me a good bit of time if it was mentioned in the ReadMe file.
That aside, thanks for the quality app. :)
