I have Snow Leopard and Adium is being a bitch, doesn't let me add some contacts Some friends do get my messages but can't reply. Trillian is THE SAME. This program works very well, no crash and it's very effective, but the inter phase is VERY UGLY if you're used to Adium, you will think it is very old fashion PC. And it doesn't combine your contacts from different accounts, it opens several acccounts but separate the contacts by tabs, not nice if you wanna keep an eye on all of them at the same time.
great program! i like it very much! and its extraordinary options are marvelous! :)

There is an update to 1.9.5 on the website that should alleviate the problem. Everyone I know on MSN Messenger/WLM and work-alikes such as Mercury Messenger are having a lot of disconnections.
My msn 9 buddies cant see me through my isight cam. I have macbook and this cam only works if i use Mercury but since this new msn came up my friends cant see me and i cant see them... what can i do to solve this? any ideas??

This seems to be the only client that supports legacy MSN Messenger video as well as Asian languages. Adium doesn't support video and aMSN didn't support Asian languages the last time I tried it. Microsoft Messenger will be supporting video the next time round, as they're waiting for the Windows version to catch up.
This is a good client. It works reasonably well at all times. CPU usage seems reasonable finally and it's able to be themed so it can take on other look-and-feel skins, including the Mac OS X look-and-feel.
I've used it to connect to a number of MSN Messenger/Live Messenger clients and it always seems to do okay but it's not spectacular. Version 2.0 is being developed at the current time.
Wow, 1.9 is Great. Gone are the bugs from 1.8 and the interrupted video chats. The new logo is very nice. I wish It had it as the new logo showing in the opening progress bar too. I really don't know what the others are talking about regarding CPU use. I have it open on a G4 1.5Ghz. Powerbook. My activity is 4.5% to 8.3% and only ~10.3% with the Emoticons panel open. I'm moving back to Mercury from aMSN. At least untill Adium gets video. Thanks, guys for a great product.
Naturally, Adium looks much better and allows logins from different accounts and chat services. It's very impressive but lacks the one thing Mercury can offer: video chat capabilities.
Whenever I use webcam I appear blue... I cannot find any settings to change the colouration... I have the Imac with the Intel dual core processor... Does that have anything to do with it???
What seemed to work for me is, open your router's config page in a browser (192.168.0.1 99% of the time), and find something that says something about port forwarding, and add whatever port Mercury is using, which can be found in your Global Settings>Webcam. Also in that same seletion, there is something called "Send every x ms" or similar, the default seems to be 300, you may wish to lower it a little bit. Also, you can use lower quality.

TOO MUCH CPU LOAD !!
its a nice MSN option.... but un-usable
soo bad....
1. how much RAM does this thing need? I mean seriously?
2. Half of my contacts list doesn't appear anyway so as a messenger app its pretty useless.
binned it and switched to Adium. much better, much faster
