iPoof is an application that will allow you to replace your Dock's poof with any stored in its library, for those who don't know a poof is the little puff of smoke you get when you drag something from the dock.

iPoof allows you to add poofs to its library and displays all your poofs in a simple elegant window, then you can select one and replace your current poof with it.

What's New

Version 1.2 adds minor fixes and features along with the ability to double click a file in the listbox and have it launched.

You do realize that this program just replaces a PNG picture file? You can do this yourself in the time it takes to download and launch the app! the dock poof file address is such:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Dock/Contents/Resources/poof.png

You could write a two or three line applescript or shell script to do this task.

I can't even download it. Is there another link where I can downlaod iPoof? By the way, I made "Poof!." I myself am trying to make it easier for the costomer to install the poofs. So far, I've make a simple script to bing them to the reasorces of the Dock.app.

I have recieved a few of these bug reports all seeming to be the same issue, it appears to be one of two things,

applescript - which is used to kill the dock/

terminal-which is used to replace the poof file.

the only bit of advice i can give whilst i am trying to work around this problem is to make sure you have an administrator account and that the permissions are up to date on your HD.

if anyone has this problem and feels like working with me to fix it or even a new problem they wanna submit to me iChat with me, my SN is j_d_e_p01@mac.com

hope i can get this working for everyone.

Download a copy of setpoof.tcl... it does the replacement cleanly in the terminal, and seems to work reliably, maybe you can convert it to Applescipt?
