While I wasn't particularly taken with Holding Pattern Coach Class, I decided to check out the First Class version.
There's no trial download available but there is a preview available at the developer's website.
First Class costs $17.50, which is awfully steep for a screen saver. No screensaver is worth more than $10 IMHO.
First Class has views off the western US, Hawaii, Clouds over the Pacific, with a view near Mexico City being the only one outside the States.
Well, how about some views over other parts of the world such as India, the Himalayas, China, Tibet, Europe, South America, i.e. Peru, Brazil, the Amazon; it's a big world out there with lots of places to choose from.
Anyway, there are no shortage of free, inspired, dynamic screensavers...... Electric Sheep, Skyrocket, Lattice, Pixelcity, Fracture, Hyperspace, Helios, Flocks, Neko, Plasma Tunnel, Euphoria.

So, when offered this screensaver, I HAD to try it.
This screensaver is not only functional and ornamental, it's entertaining. GORGEOUS views of different areas of the world, beautiful photography, realistic plane noises.
My only problem is that it's so engrossing and relaxing, I have to resist the temptation to zone.
I enjoyed Coach Class SO much that I bought First Class, and I use it all the time.
I will be following upgrades to First Class, and any other cinematic screensavers that Idle Time may produce.
Thanks!

My one gripe is that HP saves a preference file (hp2whichscene.txt) to the user's HOME folder. Not sure how that file ranks at the same level as the Desktop, Documents, Library, and other folders...
I'm hoping that in future versions that file is moved to the Library/Application Support folder, where it belongs.
