4Peaks is a program that helps molecular biologists to visualize and edit their DNA sequence files. The only negative is that this wonderful app does not do anything else. There is a desperate need for a MacOSX native app for aligning and analyzing sequence data ala BioEdit (alignments) and Mega (alignments, trees, and more). There are powerful applications, but the interfaces are horrendous, stuck back in OS9 era.
I hope these developers will do more with 4Peaks in the future.
We are happy to report that from version 1.1, all problems reported for the 1.0 version have been resolved. Enjoy 4Peaks!!

Unfortunately we have identified an issue with opening some ABI files on machines running MacOSX 10.2. These files open fine on machines running Panther, but fail to open or result in strange drawing effects. We will try to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Note that this bug will not affect your sequence files.
