What's New
Version 1.5.2:
G4 can play again too (BUGFIX)
Intel based mac was ok
Requirements
PPC / Intel, Mac OS X 10.4.5 or later, OpenGL-compatible 3D video card with 32 MB RAM.
Game does not work properly on a 14" iBook G4. As soon as you choose the first demo level and it begins, the back ground stays the same as the one from the level choice screen. And the bear falls off an invisible cliff. Unplayable. However, plays fine on a Mac pro in the same household.
It's quite a fun game that is really just a strange copy of super mario. It's also got a few small issues though, sometimes it can be dificult to land on a creatures head to kill it because the collision spot is too small. But otherwise it's a fun game with nice graphics too.

Works here with a simple 9$ logitech ( HID compliant )
Is your joypad HID compatible ?
Since It's the new OSX standard, older joypads won't work with Grizzly.

The gamepad works fine with other gamepad-enabled games on OS X 10.2.8.
Specifically Ambrosia's various software works fine with it as does Hollow Ground. In fact the hat switch seems to be more sensitive on Mac OS X than Mac OS 9.

And no I am not some clueless newbie user. The gamepad works fine in other OS X and OS 9 games going back a ways. I know what HID is, I know how USB and OS X works.
I only care to troubleshoot this at all because my daughter(s) liked this game, despite its earlier flakiness, and I figured they might be better able to better control it with a gamepad instead of the keyboard (fewer buttons obviously).
If you have daughters or young (8-under) sisters you should be aware they are not all big gamers and this genre is about as much as they can handle before whining about being "bored" or it being "too hard."

From the PTK programmer:
You can't use the hat ( it only handles the "cross" )

Gamepad support isn't recognizing my Gravis Gamepad Pro on OS X 10.2.8 with Grizzly v1.1 (even tho the app says 1.0 in the Finder - stupid developer tools, thanks Apple).
Hopefully the game won't crap out after playing a few rounds like before.

Thankfully, mother nature is on his side, and Grizzly can count on a strong ally for food and hidden passageways to trick the beasts. Complete with a groovy soundtrack and some eye-catching graphics, Grizzly is surely the game you have been waiting for to get back to some platform fun!
