ZodiaCalc is a fun astrological software that helps you see what is your ascendant.
Both the developer's website and ZodiaCalc are entirely in French, with no English option apparent.
Since most MacUpdate readers don't speak/read French, I can't figure out the point of the developer offering his software here. This is, indeed, a puzzlement!
And why should Mac users speak only english???
Can't we have software in other languages?
Please, get a life and learn something different!
The world is not only the USA!
The point is NOT that Mac users should only speak English. Software for Macs should certainly be written in other languages as well. But virtually all the software listed on MacUpdate is written in English, for folks fluent in English, even if a few are also offered in another language as well. Notice that ZodiaCalc's developer wrote the short blurb about his software in English, not French!
Posting software on MacUpdate that's not available in English just doesn't make very much sense. However, if a developer wants to do so, it's fine with me. There are, though, Mac websites that cater to non English speakers, French included.
Macs account for, at most, 5% of the computer market. And of that 5%, how many Mac users are fluent in French? I'd say, very few. So the market for French only Mac software must be, in fact, quite small.
Like it or not English, worldwide, is the one language most likely to be a second language for people who's mother tongue is not English.
